Crystal Saffron by Matiere Premiere is a 2022 unisex Eau de Parfum from the oriental spicy family, and Matiere Premiere Crystal Saffron reads as a luminous, almost translucent saffron. Aurélien Guichard chose the rarest material of the house, Greek saffron oil from Kozani, and stripped it of its eastern heaviness. The notes are short and clear: musk in the top, saffron in the heart, and ambroxan and incense in the base. Musk habanolide brightens the saffron, ambroxan adds a peppery, addictive radiance, and Somali incense gives the woody-smoky trail. The idea is light cut into stone.
