I love how balanced this is. The green mandarin keeps the strawberry from being too syrupy, and then the vanilla comes in all creamy and cozy. It’s sweet, yes, but not headache-level sweet on my skin. Compared to the OG Black Opium, this feels brighter and more fun, less dark coffee-shop at midnight and more pink dessert latte. I could see this being a signature scent if you like feminine gourmands. It lasts well and smells so pretty in the air.
Honestly this might be my favorite Black Opium now. The strawberry opening is juicy and cute, then it melts into coffee and vanilla in the best way. It kinda gives dessert cafe vibes, but still perfume-y and polished. I love that it’s not as heavy as the original, so I can wear it during the day too. Projection is solid for the first few hours, then it sits closer but still lasts. Super addictive and very easy to reach for.
This is soooo good. I was scared it would be too juvenile because of the strawberry, but nope, it’s still very YSL and kinda sexy. The vanilla absolute is creamy and warm, and the bergamot gives it this bright little sparkle in the opening. It smells pink, sweet, and expensive without being too loud. I wore it to dinner and got asked what I had on before we even sat down. If you like the original Black Opium but want something more playful, try this ASAP.
This one surprised me. I thought it would be a basic rose-vanilla thing, but the musk gives it this airy, skin-scent feel that I really like. The rose is there but not jammy or heavy, and the orange blossom adds a tiny fresh sparkle in the opening. It smells feminine without trying too hard. I just wish it projected more because after a bit I’m mostly smelling it when I move or sniff my wrist. Still, it’s comforting and very easy to reach for.
Atmos is a 4/5 for me because it smells genuinely good, just not super memorable. The rose is smooth and the musk is clean, almost laundry-like, and the vanilla keeps it from feeling too cold. I can see a lot of people liking this because there’s nothing loud or weird about it. The downside is that it plays very safe, so if you want something dramatic like Delina vibes, this isn’t that. More soft, pretty, and easygoing. Nice longevity though, around 7 hours on me.
Tbh this surprised me. I expected another generic designer guy fragrance, and yeah it kinda is, but the salt note makes it more interesting. It has this mineral freshness that mixes nicely with the palo santo, so it feels clean but not boring. I wore it to dinner and got one compliment, so there’s that. Longevity is good on my skin, around 6-8 hours, but projection calms down pretty fast after the first hour. I’d like it more if it had a stronger smoky wood vibe, but as it is, it’s still very wearable.
Gucci Guilty Intense is just easy. Spray it on and you smell fresh, clean, a little salty, and put together. The palo santo adds this soft woody thing that makes it feel more mature than some super loud club scents. I wouldn’t call it unique exactly, but it has enough personality to stand out a bit. Projection is moderate, which I actually like because it doesn’t choke people out. Minor complaint: the opening is better than the drydown, and the drydown gets a little plain. Still a very solid 4/5 for me.
This kinda smells like classic Black Opium got dressed up in a pink lip gloss. Sweet strawberry up top, then that familiar vanilla/coffee thing comes through. I love how flirty it feels without going full teenager. It’s not as deep or sexy as the original to me, more playful and bright. The patchouli is there but thankfully not heavy. I wish it projected a bit more because it turns soft after a few hours, but people close to me still noticed it.
Pink Glaze is honestly prettier than I expected. Pink Glaze is literally a compliment machine on me. I get a sweet strawberry at first, then that cozy benzoin/vanilla warmth comes through and makes it feel smooth and fluffy. It’s not groundbreaking in a weird niche way, but it’s done so well that I don’t even care. Think Black Opium got a pink glossy makeover and went out for cocktails. Performance is great too, I sprayed in the morning and still smelled it after work. 5/5 easily.
