Luna

Luna (Penhaligon's, 2016) is a bright, elegant citrus-floral built around a luminous lemon/bergamot opening that quickly softens into a dewy floral heart of rose and jasmine anchored by a crisp, slightly aromatic juniper-berry greenness. The wet citrus and aromatic facets give the opening an effervescent, tonic-like quality; the middle becomes a gentle, clean rose/jasmine accord that smells slightly soapy or lotion-like to some noses. The drydown is warm and clean — musky and ambergris-tinged with balsam fir adding subtle depth and a faint resinous/woodsy underpinning. Overall the scent reads fresh, refined, and airy — "ethereal" and unobtrusive rather than heavy or gourmand. Performance is variable: initial projection is noticeable for the first 1–2 hours, then settles closer to the skin; longevity on skin is commonly reported in the 2–5 hour range (longer on clothing). Best worn as a daytime spring/summer scent or for casual/date/office settings when a clean, approachable fragrance is desired.
