Does Scento sell perfume dupes?

What is the difference between a dupe and a decant?
A dupe is a separate, cheaper fragrance made to smell similar to a famous one. A decant is a small amount of the genuine fragrance poured from a full retail bottle. Scento sells decants of the real thing, never dupes.
Are perfume dupes legal?
Yes. A scent itself is not protected the way a brand name and logo are, so a company can legally sell an “inspired-by” fragrance as long as it uses its own name and packaging. That is different from a counterfeit, which copies the branded bottle.
Is a dupe the same as a fake?
No. A dupe is a legitimate alternative scent sold under its own brand. A fake, or counterfeit, is an item pretending to be the branded original. These guides cover legal inspired-by scents only.
