This smells like money tbh. Not flashy like BR540 where everyone knows you’re wearing perfume — more of a quiet flex. I get cardamom first, then a sleek leather with a touch of patchouli underneath. It’s warm, smooth, and ridiculously well blended. Nothing sticks out in a weird way, which is probably why I’m so obsessed with it. The vibe is confident, clean, a little cheeky. It’s the kind of scent that makes you stand straighter. On me it projects nicely for a couple hours and sticks around most of the day on clothes. Pricey, yeah, but honestly it smells special enough that I get it.
Fortuitous Finley smells like someone in a great coat who absolutely has their life together. The cardamom is what grabbed me first, then I started noticing the violet leaf giving it this green, cool edge over the leather and patchouli base. It never turns muddy or old-school, which I really appreciate because leather fragrances can go wrong fast on my skin. This stays sleek the whole time. It’s strong enough to be noticed but not beast mode, which honestly makes it more versatile. If you like classy spicy scents but don’t want something boring, this is such a winner.
I love this because it’s not just another sharp lemon bomb. Yeah, the citron pops early, but then the oakmoss and tobacco start peeking through and it gets way more interesting. That contrast is what sold me. It feels crisp, slightly earthy, and weirdly addictive. Tbh I expected something more screechy from Montale, but this is smooth and really wearable. It has presence without choking anyone out, so I can wear it in the office or out at night. Lasts a good 6-7 hours on me too. If you like fresh scents but want something with actual personality, this is def worth trying.
I love this stuff. Fortuitous Finley opens with that cool cardamom snap and a little black pepper, then the leather comes in and makes everything feel expensive without going full biker jacket. It’s polished, not rough. Kinda gives me the same “dressed up but still interesting” vibe I get from Halfeti, but this feels greener and easier to wear. The violet leaf keeps it from getting too heavy, which I really appreciate. Performance is excellent on me too — easy 7-8 hours and people definitely notice it. Super classy, super addictive. Def one of Penhaligon’s best if you like spicy leathery scents that still feel refined.
This is easily one of my favorite citrus-forward scents from Montale. The lemon hits first, sharp and uplifting, then that tonka comes in later and softens everything just enough. It never gets too sweet though, which I appreciate. I get this airy salty feel too, probably the ambergris, and that’s what makes it stand out from a million other fresh perfumes. Kinda reminds me of the freshness you get from some designer blue scents, but this feels smoother and more expensive. Lasts all day on clothes for me and gets me compliments without screaming across the room. Just a really well done fragrance.
This surprised me in the best way. I was expecting a loud, simple citrus, but the bergamot and lemon up top are way more refined than that. Then that little touch of tobacco in the drydown gives it a grown-up, slightly elegant edge that keeps it from smelling too sporty. I really, really love this. It’s fresh, but not flimsy. Clean, but not soapy. Kinda has that expensive niche vibe where people keep leaning in because they can’t place it. I got a bunch of compliments wearing this, and it stuck around for most of the day on my skin. One of Montale’s best, easily.
This is one of those fragrances that made me stop and go wow on first wear. The black pepper is gorgeous here — dry, textured, a little sharp — and then the oakmoss and patchouli pull it into this green, slightly vintage-feeling base that never gets dusty. There’s something very confident about it. Not loud, just really well composed. If you like stuff that feels more interesting than the usual sweet crowd-pleasers, this is absolutely worth trying. I get solid longevity, like 6-7 hours, and it stays classy the whole time. Honestly I love that it feels distinctive without becoming difficult. Super easy recommendation.
What I love here is how balanced it is. The black pepper gives it a nice spark at the top, but the leather never gets too harsh or dry. Then that violet leaf vibe sneaks in and gives it this clean green edge that makes the whole thing feel modern. It’s kinda fancy, but not in a stuffy way. I could wear this to the office and then straight to dinner, no problem. If some leather scents feel too macho or too smoky, this one fixes that. Really elegant, really easy to like, and the quality smells obvious from the first spray. Penhaligon’s absolutely nailed this one.
Cedrat Lova is gorgeous. On me it starts with this zingy lemon/ginger combo that feels super uplifting, then the tonka and ambergris round it out so it never turns too sour or thin. That balance is honestly perfect. It gives me that same addictive quality I get from some really hyped fresh-woody scents, but this feels more relaxed and less try-hard. I’ve worn it in heat, on errands, and even on a dinner date, and it just works every time. Projection is noticeable but not beast mode, which I actually appreciate. Super easy to recommend if you want something fresh that still feels sexy.
At first I thought this would be just another spicy citrus thing, but nope. The lemon disappears pretty fast on me and then it turns into this beautiful almond-amber skin scent with a soft earthy edge from the patchouli. It’s subtle in a really addictive way. Not shouting for attention, just smelling amazing every time you catch it. I kept sniffing my wrist all day. If Delina is the dressed-up extrovert, this is the cooler, more understated friend in a great coat. Lasted about 8 hours on my skin, closer after the first two. I love this because it feels intimate, stylish, and a little unconventional.
I’m usually picky with citrus scents because a lot of them smell nice for 20 minutes and then disappear. Not this one. Cedrat Lova keeps that juicy citron vibe up top, then the tobacco and oakmoss start peeking through and make it feel more grown-up and interesting. It kinda reminds me of the idea of a summer designer citrus, but richer and way more niche. I love this because it feels fresh without being boring. Clean, sexy, and a little edgy. Tbh I can wear it to work or out at night and it fits both. Really impressive stuff.
This one is just ridiculously well done. The leather is soft and luxe, not smoky or harsh, and the black pepper gives it enough edge to keep it interesting. There’s also this little flash of star anise that makes it feel different from the usual spicy-leather crowd. I wouldn’t compare it to BR540 or Delina at all, but it has that same instantly recognizable quality where people ask what you’re wearing. Super classy, kinda sexy, and very confident. I get about 6-7 hours, better on clothes. Pricey, yeah, but tbh this actually smells expensive in the best way.
This is one of those Montales that just clicks for me. The opening is super bright with lemon and bergamot, but it doesn’t stay like a basic freshie for long. The ginger gives it this clean little kick, then the drydown gets smoother and a bit deeper. I love how it keeps the citrus alive without turning into bathroom cleaner territory. It smells polished but still easy to wear, which is kinda rare. Performance is excellent on me too, easily 7-8 hours with solid projection for the first few. If you like fresh scents but want something with more personality, this is def worth trying.
Really like this one. It opens with a nice hit of cardamom and black pepper, then the leather comes in and gives it that polished Penhaligon's vibe. Not a rough biker-jacket leather at all — more clean, tailored, slightly green. The only reason it’s not a full 5 for me is that it feels a little reserved for the price, like I wish it pushed a bit more. Still, it smells super put together and kinda sexy in a quiet way. I’d wear this dressed up or even to the office if I went easy on the sprays. Lasts around 6-7 hours on me with soft projection after the first hour.
Really like this one. The opening is super zesty, mostly lemon and bergamot to my nose, with a little ginger bite that keeps it from feeling like basic freshie territory. Then it settles into something smoother and slightly mossy, and that drydown is where it gets really nice. It’s fresh, but not in a shower-gel way. My only small issue is the opening can feel a little sharp for the first 10 minutes, almost like Montale doing citrus at full volume. After that, it chills out and smells way more polished. Lasted around 6-7 hours on me with decent projection. Def one of the better citrus-leaning Montales I’ve tried.
This is a 5/5 for me, no question. The star anise in the opening is so good — slightly sweet, slightly cool — and then it melts into this soft leather/patchouli combo that smells insanely smooth. Not loud in a tacky way, just really put together. I keep sniffing my wrist every time I wear it. It feels luxurious and a little mysterious, like something you’d wear on a date when you actually want to impress someone. Lasts around 6 hours on my skin with solid projection for the first couple. Tbh I expected it to be more challenging, but it’s super wearable while still feeling unique.
I love this one way more than I expected. The opening is snappy and aromatic, with star anise and black pepper giving it this crisp bite, but then it settles into a really handsome leather scent. Not sweet, not overly dark, just super put together. It has that expensive Penhaligon’s vibe where everything feels blended really well. Tbh this is the kind of fragrance that works on a dinner date but also wouldn’t feel weird in the office if you go light on sprays. Lasts a full workday on me too. Really elegant stuff and super easy to recommend.
This is such an easy 5/5 for me. The opening is super bright and juicy with lemon and bergamot, but it doesn’t stay in that basic freshie lane for long. After a bit, the ginger gives it this fizzy kick that keeps it interesting. I love how clean and polished it feels without being boring. Kinda reminds me of the classy side of Dior Homme Cologne, but warmer and more textured. Performance is also way better than I expected from something this citrus-heavy—I'm getting around 7-8 hours, with solid projection for the first couple. Def one of those scents that makes you feel put together instantly.
This is super nice. Opening hits me with bitter orange and bergamot, bright and classy, then the akigalawood/vetiver side starts coming through and gives it a dry, slightly spicy edge that keeps it from feeling basic. I love that part. The vanilla in the base smooths everything out without turning it into a dessert scent, which I really appreciate. Kinda feels like the polished, richer cousin of a lot of modern woody citrus releases. Only minor flaw for me is the opening can lean a little sharp for the first 10 minutes, and for the price I wanted a bit more projection. Still, it smells expensive and put-together. Easy 4/5.
Really like this one. The opening is super zesty, like lemon and bergamot with that spicy little kick from ginger, and it feels way more lively than a lot of Montales on first spray. Then the drydown gets a bit darker with oakmoss and a soft tobacco thing in the background, which keeps it from being just another fresh citrus scent. That contrast is what makes it interesting to me. Only minor flaw: the opening can come off a little sharp/almost cleaning-product-ish for the first 10 minutes. After that, it settles nicely and smells classy. Lasts around 6-7 hours on me with decent projection. Not a total love, but def very good.
