I was expecting a super earthy, headshop patchouli situation but this is way more polished. The patchouli is smooth, kinda dry, with this warm amber-ish feel that makes it smell expensive without trying too hard. I love how it sits on clothes too, very cozy and elegant. My only issue is the opening feels a bit serious, almost too mature for the first 20 minutes, but then it softens beautifully. Lasts around 7 hours on me with moderate projection. Def not a blind buy, but really well done.
At first I thought this was too faint, but it really grew on me. It has that Diptyque airy thing going on, with white musk and soft woods blending into this powdery paper smell. L’Eau Papier feels like a perfume for people who don’t want to smell perfumey. I wanted this to be a big juicy cherry bomb, but it’s more like sweet cherry liqueur over the usual La Vie est Belle warmth.
