I was hooked the first time I tried this. The tobacco and musk combo is gorgeous here, deep and sexy but not loud in an annoying way. It has this dark velvet vibe that makes me want to keep smelling my wrist. If you like sweet tobacco scents but find some of them too syrupy, this is a better balance. The green opening keeps it sharp, then it settles into something super smooth and expensive. Tbh I like this more than a lot of hyped niche bottles because it actually feels finished. Lasts forever on clothes too. Def a 5/5 for me.
I love this. It's dark but not heavy, sweet but not sugary. The vanilla is really tasteful here, just enough to round out the tobacco and musk without turning it into a dessert scent. That balance is why it feels so classy to me. This is the kind of perfume that gets compliments from people who normally don't say anything, because it smells different but still very inviting. I also like that it works in cooler weather without feeling too seasonal or hard to pull off. Great projection for the first couple hours, then a nice scent bubble after that. Super easy 5 stars.
I love this one. It opens with that spicy black pepper/cinnamon thing, then the leather and labdanum start creeping in and it gets really cozy and deep. On me it smells like sitting by a fire in a really nice suede jacket, but not in a harsh smoky way. The oud is there, just not one of those barnyard monster ouds, thank god. Super wearable for how dark it is. Lasts easily 8+ hours on my skin and projects enough without turning the room into a crime scene. If you like warm resinous scents but want something smoother and more polished, this is def worth trying.
Tbh this is one of the few fragrances I instantly wanted a full bottle of. The green opening is amazing, slightly dark and almost foresty, and then the tobacco comes in with this smooth musky base that feels super refined. No rough edges, no weird synthetic blast, just a really well-blended scent. It kinda reminds me of the mood of Nasomatto Black Afgano a little, but way easier to wear and less intense. What I love most is how it stays interesting the whole time. Never boring, never flat. Also lasts a solid 8+ hours on me, which I always appreciate.
Love this, honestly. It smells like warm spices, worn leather, and night air. There’s something about the cinnamon here that makes it feel cozy instead of gourmand, which I’m into. Kinda reminds me of some softer oud fragrances, but this stays more casual and less dressed up than most. It’s definitely not an everyday dumb reach for me though, because it has a dark mood and works best when it’s cold out. Minor flaw: the leather can lean a touch synthetic if I smell up close. In the air, though, it’s really nice and pretty addictive. Def a great fall/winter date scent.
I love the overall idea of this. The tobacco is soft, the vanilla is subtle, and that green edge gives it personality. It smells expensive and a little sexy without trying too hard. Honestly, this is one of those fragrances that makes you want to keep sniffing your sleeve. The small downside is that the green note can lean a bit harsh depending on how much you spray, so I have to be careful with it. Two sprays is perfect. After that, it turns creamy and musky and stays there for hours. Very good, just not totally flawless.
Laylati smells expensive from the jump. I get green notes first, then this soft vanilla-tobacco thing that feels polished and kinda cozy at the same time. It doesn't scream for attention like BR540 style scents, which I actually appreciate. This one has presence, but in a more elegant, confident way. Super versatile too, because even though it's rich, it never turns cloying on my skin. I can wear it dressed up or just casually and it still works. Projection is solid for the first few hours, then it sits closer but keeps going. Really love this one. Easy recommendation if you want something different.
This is such a cool scent. I mostly get a dark green opening with tobacco underneath, then the vanilla smooths it out so it never gets too rough. It feels classy but still a little mysterious, kinda like a dressed-up nighttime scent without being overly formal. Not super sweet, which I really appreciate. The only minor flaw for me is that the opening can come off a bit sharp for the first 10 minutes, but after that it settles beautifully. Performance is really good too, easy 7-8 hours on my skin. I love this for cooler weather and evenings.
Laylati is decent, but I don’t really get the hype tbh. The opening is nice though — very green and slightly smoky, with that tobacco vibe giving it some depth. After 20 minutes it settles into a musky vanilla thing that’s smooth enough, but also pretty generic on my skin. It’s not bad at all, just not super memorable. Kinda feels like it wants to be this mysterious luxe scent, but it never fully gets there. Performance is solid, around 6-7 hours, and it stays noticeable without going beast mode. I’d wear it on a cool evening, but I wouldn’t pick this over other dark sweet scents I already own.
I was hoping for something richer here. Under the Stars starts off promising with that peppery spice, and the labdanum gives it a slightly resinous warmth, but then it just kinda stays flat. The leather is there, but it feels a bit cleaned up and tame, not rough or sexy like I wanted. If you like smoky-ish designer oud scents, this is easy to wear and not offensive at all. But for me that’s also the problem. It plays it too safe. I don’t hate it, and I can see it working for fall evenings, but it didn’t give me that wow moment. Just solid, forgettable, 3/5.
Tbh I was expecting something way harsher because of the oud and leather, but this is actually really approachable. Maison Margiela made it dark and warm without going full niche-chaos. The labdanum is what I notice most, giving it this ambery almost sticky warmth, while the black pepper keeps it from feeling flat. I love that it smells atmospheric and a little mysterious, but I do wish the projection was stronger after the first hour. It sits kinda close to the skin on me after that. Still, I’d totally wear this for dinner or nights out. Very good, just not perfect.
I really like this one. It smells like sitting by a fire in a leather jacket, but in a clean, wearable way. The black pepper pops first on me, then the leather and labdanum take over and give it that dark resinous warmth. It’s not a super challenging oud bomb at all, which I appreciate. The only minor flaw is that it gets a little samey after the first hour and doesn’t evolve a ton. Still, it smells expensive and cozy and I kept sniffing my wrist all night. Lasted around 7 hours on me with decent projection for the first two.
This stuff is so good. Laylati opens really green to me, almost like crushed leaves, then that smooth tobacco comes in and makes it feel rich without getting too heavy. The vanilla in the background is subtle but super important because it softens everything and keeps it from going too harsh. I love how mysterious it smells. Kinda gives me the same addictive effect I get from some smoky niche scents, but this feels cleaner and more wearable. Performance is excellent too, easy all day on me and it leaves a really nice trail. Honestly one of those rare perfumes that feels unique and still easy to love.
Laylati surprised me tbh. I expected a full-on dense tobacco bomb, but it’s actually more balanced than that. The musk and green notes keep it from feeling too thick, and there’s just enough vanilla in the drydown to make it cozy. It kinda reminds me of those expensive niche scents that try to smell mysterious, except this one actually feels wearable. My only issue is projection isn’t beast mode on me after the first hour, so it sits closer to the skin than I wanted. Still, I really enjoy it and keep going back to it.
This is kinda what I wanted By the Fireplace to be when I’m not in the mood for sweetness. Under the Stars feels drier, darker, more grown up. I get cinnamon up top, then this smooth oud/leather combo that makes it feel sexy without trying too hard. Super nice in cool weather. My only issue is the opening can come off a bit sharp for like 10 minutes, especially if you spray heavy. After that, it settles into a really attractive smoky skin scent. Not beast mode, but I got a solid 6 hours and it was still there on my clothes the next day.
This is decent, but I’m not blown away. I get a spicy hit up top from black pepper and cinnamon, then it settles into this dry leather/oud thing that kinda feels like sitting by a campfire in a new jacket. Sounds cooler than it actually is, tbh. It’s pleasant and definitely warm, but it never really develops into anything super memorable on my skin. Not as smooth or addictive as some darker scents in this style. Performance is okay, around 5-6 hours, with pretty moderate projection. I’d wear it on a cold night, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy a bottle.
Really nice stuff. On me it opens very green, almost foresty, then turns into this smooth tobacco-musk cloud that feels super comforting. I love that it has depth without going syrupy or loud. If you want something in the lane of sweet tobacco scents but less obvious and less clubby, this is def worth trying. It’s not as instantly addictive as something like Herod for me, so that’s why it’s not a perfect 5, but it has a more polished vibe. Lasts around 6-7 hours and works best in fall or cooler nights.
This is one of those perfumes I respect more than I actually love. I get green notes up top, then mostly soft musk with a little vanilla in the background. It smells clean-dark, if that makes sense. Pretty easy to wear, not offensive, and def smoother than a lot of loud niche stuff. But for me that’s also the problem — it’s too safe and a little vague, like there’s no real hook. I kept waiting for some wow moment and it never came. Projection is pretty close to the skin after the first hour too. Nice for everyday wear, just not something I’d call exciting or worth obsessing over.
Tbh I expected something rich and smoky, but Laylati just came off muddy and weirdly flat on my skin. The green opening is super sharp for a few minutes, then it drops into this fuzzy tobacco-musk thing that never really feels smooth or luxurious. I kept waiting for the vanilla to soften it, but it barely showed up. Kinda reminds me of those dark niche scents that try to be mysterious and end up smelling unfinished instead. Performance is decent, like 6-7 hours, but that almost made it worse because I was stuck with it. For the price, this really should feel more polished.
Wanted to love this because the idea sounds great, but on my skin it turns kinda harsh fast. The black pepper and leather come out strong right away, then the oud just sits there feeling dry and scratchy instead of deep or cozy. I was hoping for something rich and night-sky sexy, but it reads more like burnt wood and a jacket that’s been left near a campfire. Not smooth at all. It also feels a bit one-note after the first 20 minutes. Performance is decent, like 6-7 hours, but that almost makes it worse because I’m stuck with it. Tbh this smells more expensive than good.
