Gladiator Extrait is one of those scents that smells expensive right away. The green apple is tart, not candy-like, and the bergamot gives it a super clean sparkle. After a while I get more cedar and patchouli leaf, so it turns drier and a little earthy. I love the contrast, but tbh the opening can be a bit sharp if you overspray. Two sprays is perfect for me. It feels more spring/summer daytime than night out. Not a masterpiece, but really well made and very wearable.
I really like Oboro. It opens with this bright bergamot and ginger thing that feels clean but not boring, then the black pepper gives it a nice little bite. Very Byredo in that airy, polished way. It’s not a loud perfume at all, more like a sleek scent bubble, so don’t expect beast mode. On me it lasts around 6 hours, mostly close to skin after the first hour. Minor complaint: it could use a bit more depth for the price, but I still think it smells super easy to wear and kinda addictive.

I love how it has this crisp masculine-leaning edge without going full blue fragrance. The drydown gets a bit woody and smoother, but I kinda wish the juicy opening lasted longer because that’s the best part. Performance is solid, around 7 hours, projection is noticeable but not obnoxious. Very easy to wear, just a little pricey for what it is.
This one feels like clean cashmere to me. Not detergent, not baby powder, just soft white musk with a creamy floral thing going on. The vanilla is subtle but important because it stops the whole scent from feeling cold. I really like it for evenings at home or low-key dates where you want someone to notice only when they’re close. Minor flaw is that it’s not super unique, but it’s done really nicely. Very easy to wear and honestly kinda addictive.
I was surprised by how much I liked this. The Casablanca lily gives it a soft floral richness, but the white musk keeps it airy and wearable. It’s not a loud white floral at all, which is nice because those can get headachey on me fast. There’s a little vanilla warmth in the drydown that makes it feel cozy. I do wish it lasted longer though, I get maybe 5-6 hours max and projection is moderate. Still very pretty and classy.
Okay this one surprised me. I expected something heavy and intense, but Cavort is actually super balanced. The davana gives this slightly boozy fruity twist in the opening, then the incense and sandalwood make it creamy and smoky. It’s cozy but also kinda sexy, like a cashmere sweater at a fancy bar. I’ve tried a lot of spicy woody niche scents and many get too harsh, but this stays smooth the whole time. Longevity is excellent on my skin, around 9 hours. Highly recommend sampling at least.
This is the kind of scent I wear when I want to feel unstoppable. The geranium gives it a slightly aromatic freshness at first, then the saffron and sandalwood come in and it gets warm, smooth, and kinda seductive. I wouldn’t call it loud-loud, but people near you will notice. It feels unisex in the best way, not leaning too sweet or too masculine. Also really well blended, nothing pokes out weirdly. 5/5 for me because it’s interesting but still easy to wear.
Cavort smells like money lol. Not in a flashy BR540 clone way, more like a warm spicy woody fragrance that feels super put together. The cinnamon is soft and classy, not sweet pastry cinnamon, and the patchouli gives it a bit of depth without going earthy basement. I wore this to dinner and kept catching little whiffs from my jacket all night. It lasted forever on clothes too. It’s pricey, yeah, but tbh this one actually smells like a niche luxury perfume to me.
I know people love to hate on Sauvage because it’s popular, but this Extrait is genuinely amazing. It smells premium from start to finish. The vetiver keeps it sharp and clean, while the oud and woods make it darker and more mature. Not as aggressive as Elixir, not as loud as the EDT, just really well blended. It kinda gives luxury department store vibes, in a good way. Great performance, great trail, and super easy to wear. If you want one high-end masculine scent, this is a safe blind buy imo.
Man this is good. Sauvage Extrait smells like someone took the original and gave it a black suit. The opening is smooth and fresh-ish, but it quickly turns woody and slightly smoky. I mostly pick up cedarwood and a clean oud vibe, nothing animalic or challenging. It’s masculine without being basic, and I’ve had two people ask what I was wearing the same day. Lasts forever on clothes too. I wouldn’t overspray because it has presence, but with 2-3 sprays it’s perfect.

The pepper is there but it’s not aggressive, just enough to keep it from being another basic freshie. It reminds me a little of those minimalist niche scents you wear with a crisp white shirt. Very office friendly, very clean, but still has personality. My only issue is projection is kinda shy, especially for Byredo prices. Still, I’d happily wear this a lot in spring or early fall.

Iris & White Musk smells lovely, but tbh it’s a bit too well-behaved for the price. The white musk is clean and smooth, with a soft vanilla edge that makes it slightly creamy. I don’t get anything super dramatic here, just a gentle powdery floral that sits nicely on skin. If you like fragrances like Prada Infusion d’Iris but want something softer and more feminine, you might enjoy this. I’d wear it often, just probably wouldn’t overspray and expect compliments across the room.

This is gorgeous. I get a lot of incense and labdanum after the opening, and it turns into this smoky amber-ish skin scent but with real presence. Not dirty or heavy, just dark and smooth. The saffron gives it that slightly leathery expensive edge that I’m obsessed with. It’s not a safe blind buy if you only like freshies, but if you like warm mysterious scents, wow. My partner immediately asked what I was wearing. Projection is strong for the first few hours then settles beautifully.

Performance is great on me too, easily 8+ hours with a nice scent trail. Def one of the more polished Fragrance Du Bois releases I’ve tried.
