Elsewhere is pleasant, but for Amouage I expected more wow. I mostly get a spicy fruity opening, like grapefruit with ginger and a little mango sweetness, then it settles into this warm woody vanilla thing. It’s smooth and easy to wear, but also kinda blurry? Nothing really pops after the first 30 minutes. Performance is decent on me, maybe 6 hours, but projection stays pretty moderate. I don’t dislike it at all, I just wouldn’t rush to buy a bottle at Amouage prices. Nice if you want something fruity-spicy and grown up, but not super memorable.
I didn’t expect to love Ecstasy this much, but wow. The soil tincture gives it this damp earthy realism, like roots and forest air, while the tonka keeps it from becoming too harsh. It’s calming but also powerful, which is a weird combo in the best way. Definitely not a blind buy for everyone, because it’s earthy and a bit dramatic, but for me it’s perfection. It feels like something you wear with a black coat and zero effort. Lasts ages too, especially on fabric.
Tbh this blew me away. It opens green and resinous, lots of pine and woods, then slowly gets warmer with amber. It has that Tiziana Terenzi drama but in a really wearable way. Not airy or pretty like Delina, not sugary like BR540… this is darker, deeper, more grounded. I get compliments but mostly from people who actually like niche perfumes, if that makes sense. Longevity is beast mode on my skin, easily all day. If you want something bold and expensive-smelling, Ecstasy is it.
Ecstasy is incredible if you’re tired of generic sandalwood/amber perfumes. This has a really natural pine note that feels alive, not like bathroom cleaner at all. Then it dries down into this creamy Australian sandalwood with a slightly dirty earthy edge. I was worried the soil note would be too much, but it just adds depth. It smells serious, artistic, and honestly kinda meditative. I wouldn’t wear it to the office every day, but for cold nights or when I want to smell unforgettable, yes please.

This isn’t a pretty perfume and that’s exactly why I love it. No sugary tonka cloud, no clean laundry vibe, just pepper, woods, and a little musky warmth. It smells confident without trying too hard. The opening has a real bite, almost nose-tickling, but give it ten minutes and it becomes smooth and addictive. I get about 6 hours with moderate projection. If you like Comme des Garçons style scents, this is one of their best imo.
Honestly this makes most spicy perfumes smell heavy and dated. Blackpepper is dry, airy, and really clean in a strange way. The pepper opening is realistic and punchy, then the musk comes in and softens everything just enough. I’ve worn it to work and out at night and it never feels out of place. It’s not a compliment monster like BR540, but when someone does notice it, they usually ask what it is. Super underrated.
This is hands down my favorite CDG scent. The black pepper is sharp at first but settles into this smoky-musky thing that feels super modern. I don’t get a big loud oud, more like a dark woody shadow in the background. What I love is how wearable it is despite being kinda artsy. It doesn’t scream, but people notice when they’re close. Perfect fall/winter scent, especially if you’re bored of sweet ambers and vanilla bombs.
Blackpepper is one of those perfumes that sounds simple but smells insanely cool. I get a blast of pepper, then this smooth musk and faint oud-ish woodiness underneath. It’s not sweet, not cozy, not trying to be sexy in an obvious way, but somehow it is. Kinda reminds me of wearing an all black outfit that actually fits perfectly. Performance is solid on me, not beast mode but definitely present. Easy 5/5 if you’re into dry spicy fragrances.

This was an instant yes for me. The apple-cinnamon opening is so juicy and warm, then the smoky part creeps in and makes the whole thing feel super grown up. Smoking Hot is exactly the right name lol. It’s cozy, but there’s something kinda dangerous about it. I get cinnamon and bourbon vanilla the most, with that smoky edge making it feel sexy instead of dessert-y. This is what I wanted Angels’ Share to be when I need something less boozy and more mysterious. Super smooth, no harsh burnt smell on me. I wore it on a cold night out and kept smelling my scarf the next day.

There’s something airy in the drydown too, probably the Iso E Super, because it doesn’t get heavy or syrupy even though it’s sweet. That’s what makes it wearable. Pricey, yeah, but this one actually feels worth it.

Molecule 02 is one of those scents I respect more than I actually love. It’s basically ambroxan doing its thing — clean, slightly salty, a little musky/woody, like warm skin after a shower. Performance is decent, maybe 6-ish hours, but projection is pretty close. I get why people layer it with other perfumes, because alone it feels a bit unfinished. Nice everyday scent, just not worth the hype for me.
Celeste is pleasant, just not super exciting to me. I get a clean sea water vibe right away with a little lime, then it turns into this soft vanilla sugar + ambroxan skin scent. It’s fresh-sweet, kinda like beach air but in a very polished, perfume-y way. I like it, but I also feel like I’ve smelled this type of airy ambroxan sweetness a lot lately. Performance is decent, around 5-6 hours on me, projection stays pretty moderate. Easy to wear in warm weather, but for the price I wanted more personality.

It’s rich without being loud in a messy way. I’d wear this to dinner, a winter party, or honestly just when I want to feel expensive. Lasts forever on clothes too. It’s not cheap, obviously, but this is one of those times where I actually get the hype.
