Usually saffron-heavy perfumes can go medicinal or too sharp on my skin, but Black Saffron does the opposite. It feels soft, airy, and a little smoky without losing that clean Byredo style. The juniper berries in the top are such a nice touch—they give it freshness so the whole thing never feels dense. I honestly reach for this when I want something sensual but not obviously sexy, if that makes sense. More quiet confidence than attention-seeking. Lasts around 6 hours for me with moderate projection. Not cheap, obviously, but the scent itself feels special enough that I can’t even be mad about it.
I love this stuff. It’s basically sandalwood done in a super clean, creamy, expensive way without turning into pickle juice or dry pencil shavings. The Australian sandalwood is the star, but that little touch of thyme in the opening gives it a fresh aromatic lift that keeps it from feeling sleepy. On my skin it stays smooth and slightly milky for hours. Kinda reminds me of Santal 33 if you removed the harsh edges and made it way more elegant. Performance is really solid too, around 7-8 hours with a soft but noticeable trail. Def one of those fragrances that makes you feel put together without trying too hard.
This is one of those perfumes that doesn’t scream for attention, but if you like refined woods, it’s so good. White Sandalwood feels clean, creamy and a bit herbal at first from the thyme, then it settles into this gorgeous soft sandalwood cloud. Not sweet, not spicy, not trying too hard. Just really polished. I actually prefer this over a lot of louder woody scents because it feels more expensive and wearable. Def office friendly, but I’d wear it on a date too because it sits close and feels intimate. Lasts about 6 hours on me, projection is moderate. Honestly, this is understated in the best way.
I love this way more than I expected. It opens with this fizzy ginger thing that feels bright and almost lemony, then the whole Molecule 01 woody skin vibe kicks in and it just melts into you. Super simple, but not boring at all. It smells clean, fresh, and weirdly addictive, like your skin but better with a cool spicy twist. Kinda reminds me of the airy minimal vibe of another Escentric release, just sharper and more playful. Performance is solid on me too, around 6-7 hours, mostly close to the skin but I kept catching little wafts all day. Def one of those fragrances I reach for without thinking.
I’m obsessed with this one. It smells like fresh white fabric, smooth skin, and creamy sandalwood all at once. The thyme opening is subtle but really smart, because it stops the wood from feeling too heavy or flat. After that it’s just this soft warm cloud that sits close enough to feel intimate but still gets noticed. Super easy to wear, super comforting, and somehow still sexy. That’s a hard combo to pull off. I’ve tried a lot of sandalwoods and this is easily one of the nicest because it feels authentic, not overly polished or synthetic. Def a signature scent type of fragrance for me.
This is one of those fragrances that made me stop and go wow. It’s not sweet in an obvious way, not super loud either, but the saffron and juniper berries together smell so polished and cool. There’s this soft warmth underneath that makes it feel sexy in a low-key way, like cashmere and black sunglasses lol. If you like Byredo’s airy style, this is one of their best tbh. It doesn’t hit like BR540 or anything that big, but that’s why I love it. It sits a little closer to the skin after a while, yet I still catch it for 6-8 hours. Def recommend.
This is the kind of fragrance that sneaks up on you. First spray, I liked it. After wearing it a few times, I was obsessed. The saffron is the star for me, but the juniper keeps it cool and slightly aromatic so it doesn’t turn heavy or overly sweet. It has this smooth, dark, almost velvety feel that makes it perfect for evenings, but I’ve worn it in daytime too and it still works. Super chic. If Delina is dressed up and flirty, this is the quieter, cooler person in the room with better style. Not a huge projector, but it lingers beautifully on skin and clothes.
White Sandalwood is proof that simple doesn’t mean boring. There aren’t a million things happening here, but the sandalwood is so well done that I honestly don’t care. I get a fresh herbal touch from the thyme in the first few minutes, then it settles into this creamy, slightly warm wood that smells ridiculously smooth. No roughness, no weird synthetic bite, just clean luxury. It kinda has that quiet confidence I wish more perfumes had. If you like loud sweet stuff like BR540, this is a totally different mood, way more understated and refined. Lasts about 6-7 hours on me, which is plenty for something this soft.
This is one of those fragrances that doesn’t scream for attention, but people notice when they get close. I get airy thyme at first, then this gorgeous creamy sandalwood that feels almost silky. It smells super natural to me, like polished wood and warm skin, not like a fake mall-store woody scent. Tbh I’m picky with sandalwood because a lot of them go sharp or dusty, and this never does. It just stays smooth and comforting the whole wear. Projection is moderate, not beast mode, but that’s part of why I love it. It feels classy, easy, and weirdly addictive. I’d wear this literally anywhere.
This is one of those fragrances that seems almost too simple, then suddenly you can’t stop smelling your wrist. I get crisp ginger first, then that smooth cedar-ish / iso e super vibe that feels airy and clean. Kinda reminds me of the whole “your skin but better” thing, except with a cool spicy twist. I love this for days when I don’t want perfume-perfume. It’s not beast mode at all, so if you want huge projection you might be annoyed. But for me that’s part of the charm. Fresh, woody, understated, and honestly pretty sexy in a low-key way.
This one is so simple and somehow so satisfying. On me, the ginger comes out first: fresh, zesty, a tiny bit peppery. After that it turns into this silky cedar/woody skin scent that smells expensive without trying too hard. I wouldn’t compare it to BR540 or anything sweet and loud at all, this is way more understated and cool. It has that minimalist luxury thing going on. What I really love is how natural it feels even though it’s obviously built around that synthetic Molecule style. Lasted about 7 hours on my skin with soft projection. Honestly, for warm weather or when you want to smell polished but not overdone, this is perfect.
I love this stuff. It’s basically the kind of sandalwood scent I always hope for and rarely get: smooth, creamy, a little dry, and really natural smelling. The Australian sandalwood is the star for me, but that little touch of thyme in the opening keeps it from feeling too plain or sleepy. It starts airy, then turns into this soft woody skin scent that still feels luxe. Kinda reminds me of Santal 33 in the sense that it’s minimalist and woody, but this is way less sharp and way more comforting. Performance is really solid too, around 7-8 hours on me with a nice soft trail. Super easy 5/5.
This is exactly my kind of fragrance. No heavy sweetness, no messy florals, just crisp ginger over that smooth woody Iso E Super aura. It feels effortless and modern. Tbh it’s one of the best easy-reach scents I’ve tried in a while because it works in basically any situation: office, errands, dinner, whatever. The ginger gives it a fresh little sparkle without turning it into a basic citrus scent. If you like loud perfumes, this probably won’t be beast mode enough, but that’s also the charm. It sits pretty close and makes people lean in. I’ve gotten a surprising amount of compliments with this one.
Tbh this surprised me. I expected another generic woody niche scent, but this is way better than that. The sandalwood here smells creamy and silky, not pickle-y or rough, and the thyme gives the opening a fresh aromatic twist that keeps it interesting. After 20 minutes it becomes this super smooth woody veil that I couldn’t stop sniffing. It has that expensive, effortless vibe some fragrances try to fake but don’t. If you like subtle luxury more than beast mode attention-grabbers like BR540, this might really hit. It’s not loud, but it lasts a solid workday on me and feels incredibly put together. I’d absolutely recommend it.
Tbh this is a 5/5 for me because it knows exactly what it wants to be. It’s not trying to be sugary, smoky, or overly niche-weird. Just beautiful Australian sandalwood with a crisp thyme opening and this soft warm aura that feels incredibly refined. I love that it smells expensive without being flashy. It gives me the same “clean luxury” feeling I get from really good skin scents, but with more character. Great for work, dinner, lazy weekends, whatever. I’ve gotten compliments with this, but mostly I wear it for myself because it just makes me feel calm and polished. Really hard not to recommend if you love woody scents.
Honestly, this might be my favorite Byredo. Black Saffron has this beautiful balance where the saffron feels warm and slightly smoky, while the juniper keeps it fresh and almost gin-like at the top. It gives me a similar “can’t stop smelling my wrist” feeling I get with really addictive scents, but this one is more refined and less in-your-face. I’ve worn it dressed up and just in a hoodie, and somehow it works both ways. That’s rare. It’s also a compliment getter without being basic. Lasts about 7 hours for me, which is good for Byredo. Pricey, yeah, but I’d still highly recommend it.
I love this stuff. Black Saffron has that dry, slightly leathery saffron thing, but it never gets too harsh or heavy on me. The juniper in the opening gives it this crisp little sparkle that keeps it from feeling flat, and then it settles into something smooth, warm, and really addictive. Kinda reminds me of a cleaner, more understated niche take compared to louder statement scents. It feels expensive without screaming for attention. Performance is really solid too, around 7 hours on my skin with decent projection for the first couple hours. Super wearable, but still unique enough that I always notice it when I have it on.
I really like this one. It’s basically that clean Molecule 01 woody aura with a fizzy ginger kick on top, and it works way better than I expected. The ginger feels fresh and a little sparkling, not bakery or spicy-heavy, and the woody base keeps it super easy to wear. On me it sits pretty close to the skin after the first hour, but I kept catching little wafts of it for around 6-7 hours. That said, I do wish the ginger stuck around longer because the drydown gets very familiar if you know Molecule 01 already. Still, it’s such an easy grab for work or hot weather.
I’m into it, but I’m not fully obsessed. The opening is super nice—bright ginger with that transparent woody thing underneath—and for a minute I thought this was gonna be a new favorite. Then it settles into a very soft skin scent pretty fast on me. Not bad at all, just quieter than I wanted. If you already love Molecule 01, this feels like the fresher, zippier cousin. If you don’t, this probably won’t convert you. I still think it’s really good because it smells clean, modern, and effortless, especially in warm weather. Just wish it had a bit more presence for the price.
Love this stuff. It has that almost invisible woody-musky base, but the ginger makes it feel way more alive and less plain than regular Molecule 01. It’s not juicy citrus exactly, more like freshly cut ginger root with a cool airy shimmer around it. I’ve been wearing it as a dumb reach and it never feels too much. Def office-safe, but I could also see it layering really well with something rose-heavy or even a sweeter scent if you want more personality. Performance is decent on me, around 6 hours, though projection is pretty soft. Minor flaw aside, I keep coming back to it.
