This is one of those fragrances that seems basic for five seconds, then you realize how good it actually is. The lemon opening is sparkling and fresh, but the orange blossom makes it feel creamy and elegant instead of sharp. There’s a light woody drydown that keeps it from smelling too innocent or plain. I wouldn’t call it beast mode at all, but it hangs around nicely and smells expensive up close. Honestly, I’d take this over a lot of louder niche citrus scents.
Tbh this is one of those perfumes that doesn’t scream for attention, but I kept sniffing my wrist. The citrus is fresh and slightly bitter at first, then it settles into a soft musky clean scent. It’s very unisex to me, not sweet or heavy at all. If you like loud perfumes like BR540 or Delina, this might feel boring, but I think it’s perfect when you want to smell put together without smelling “perfumed.” Minor flaw is longevity, because I had to reapply by afternoon.
The opening was just okay for me, a bit dusty and weirdly flat, but wow the drydown is where this shines. The sandalwood gets creamy, the musk feels soft, and there’s a gentle vanilla warmth that makes it super addictive. It’s not sugary at all, more like skin but expensive. I can see some people calling it too subtle, and yeah, it’s not a huge compliment monster. But every time I catch it on my scarf I’m like yep, this is good. Solid 4/5.
This is not a beast mode perfume at all, so don’t expect that. Eau Parfumée Thé Impérial is more of a soft citrus and musk cloud, very polished and clean. It kinda reminds me of something you’d smell in a luxury spa lobby. I love how smooth it is, no sharp screechy lemon thing happening. The downside is I wish it had a little more personality, because after a while it becomes pretty subtle. Still, it smells expensive and calm, and I’d wear it a lot in spring.
