I love this stuff. Y EDT is basically what I wanted from a fresh everyday designer: crisp bergamot up top, a clean apple vibe, and that smooth woody drydown that keeps it from feeling too shower-gel basic. It’s super easy to wear but not boring, which is rare tbh. Kinda gives me that same easy reach energy as Bleu de Chanel, just brighter and a little more playful. I’ve worn it to work, errands, dinner, whatever, and it never feels out of place. Performance is really solid for an EDT too, I get around 6-7 hours with decent projection for the first couple. Def one of the safest 5-star buys in my collection.
This one feels like a quiet flex. Not trying too hard, not screaming for attention, just smells really good. I get cardamom first, then this smooth woody body with a soft citrus lift from the mandarin. The balance is what gets me. Nothing feels sharp or messy. It’s elegant but still kinda sexy in that understated way. I’ve had a few woody fragrances that go dry and boring after an hour, but this keeps its shape and stays interesting the whole wear. Projection is solid for the first few hours, then it sits closer and cleaner. Def highly recommended if you want something niche-smelling without being weird or difficult.
Tbh I usually get bored by fresh designer scents, but this one really clicked with me. Y EDT has that bright bergamot opening, but the sage and ginger give it some personality so it doesn’t feel generic. It kinda sits in that mass-appealing lane like Bleu de Chanel, but it’s a little more playful and easier to wear in hot weather. What I love most is how clean it smells without being harsh or overly synthetic. Super approachable, super likable. I’ve gotten random compliments with this more than expected. Lasts around 5-7 hours on me, which is totally fine for an EDT. For the price and versatility, this is honestly excellent.
Tbh this is designer crowd-pleasing done really well. The ginger and bergamot give it a bright kick in the opening, then the apple keeps it crisp and slightly sweet. It kinda reminds me of Bleu de Chanel and Dior Sauvage having a younger, more playful cousin. What I love is how easy it is to wear anywhere: gym, office, dinner, whatever. Minor flaw for me is the performance. It starts out strong enough, but after a couple hours it sits closer to the skin than I want. Still, for the smell alone, I totally get why people compliment this one.
There’s something really addictive about this one. The apple up top is juicy and bright, then the sage keeps it airy and a little aromatic. It just smells happy, if that makes sense. I’ve gone through phases with a lot of popular designers, and this is one of the few freshies I keep coming back to because it never feels like too much. Great for the office, great after a shower, great when you want compliments without smelling like you tried super hard. It’s not niche or weird, but that’s not a bad thing at all. It’s just incredibly wearable and well done. Easy 5 stars from me.
Y EDT is honestly one of the best modern designer releases in this style. It opens with a really nice bergamot sparkle, then I get ginger and woods pretty quickly. The whole thing feels crisp, masculine, and very put together. Kinda reminds me of the clean versatility of Prada Luna Rossa Carbon, but brighter and more upbeat. What I appreciate is how balanced it is — fresh enough for daytime, but not so light that it disappears instantly. On me it’s not beast mode, but I still get a solid 6 hours and enough projection to be noticed. If someone asked me for one safe, great-smelling daily driver, this would be high on the list.
I wanted to love this more than I actually do. The opening with saffron and juniper berries is really nice—clean, spicy, a little fruity, super wearable. It kinda reminds me of some other modern niche scents that try to do that airy luxury thing, but this one doesn’t have enough personality to stand out. Nothing smells bad here, and I actually think it’s very easy to wear to work or pretty much anywhere. The downside is performance is just okay, maybe 5-6 hours, and the whole thing feels a bit too safe. 3/5 makes sense to me: good quality, just nothing special.
Def one of the better easy designer wears from YSL. The bergamot pops early, then I get this juicy apple freshness with a soft woody base underneath. Super likable. If you enjoy stuff like Dylan Blue or even a lighter Sauvage, this is in that lane but a bit smoother to me. What I love most is how effortless it feels—just spray and go. No weird rough edges, no overly sweet mess. My only complaint is longevity is just good, not amazing. Around 6 hours on me and projection calms down pretty fast. Still very solid and honestly kinda underrated.
This is a 5/5 for me, no question. It has that warm cardamom glow I’m a total sucker for, and the rosewood accord feels creamy, dry, and expensive. Not loud in an obnoxious way, just really put together. It kinda reminds me of the polished style of some Byredo woods, but this has more depth and better staying power on me. The mandarin in the opening keeps it from getting too heavy, which I really appreciate. I’ve worn it dressed up and also just running around on weekends and it somehow works for both. Super easy to love if you’re into spicy woody scents that still feel refined.
Y EDT is one of those fragrances I reach for when I don’t wanna think. Spray and go. The opening is bright and fresh with bergamot, then I get that crisp apple thing and a clean woody trail that smells really put together. It’s youthful without being teenager-y, and classy without feeling stiff. That balance is why I rate it so high. I’ve worn it in the office, on casual dates, even in hot weather, and it always fits. Kinda reminds me of a lighter, friendlier take on the whole modern blue fragrance style. Projection is nice for the first hour or two, then it sits closer. Still, really love this one.
This surprised me. I expected another generic blue scent, but the sage in here gives it a nice aromatic edge and the apple opening is really pleasant. It smells clean, confident, and put together without trying too hard. I love this for spring and warmer office days because it feels crisp instead of heavy. Only reason it’s not a full 5 stars for me is that it doesn’t evolve a ton, and there’s a slightly synthetic vibe in the drydown. Nothing awful though. Just a really solid, attractive daily wear fragrance that gets the job done.
This is one of my favorite fresh scents because it actually has some vibe to it. A lot of clean fragrances just smell like expensive shampoo, but Y EDT has this nice mix of apple, ginger, and a soft woody drydown that makes it feel a bit sexy too. Not loud in an obnoxious way, just polished. I’d wear this on a casual date for sure, especially spring and summer. It gives me that same easy appeal some people get from Sauvage, but this feels smoother and less aggressive. Projection is solid for the first hour or two, then it stays closer. Still, I keep catching whiffs and that’s enough for me. Really love it.
I love this stuff. Y EDT is one of those super easy grabs when I don’t wanna think and still wanna smell really good. The opening gives me a crisp apple/bergamot thing, then that ginger kicks in and keeps it energetic without going shower-gel basic. It smells clean, confident, and just really put together. Kinda youthful, but not immature at all. I’ve worn it to work, dinner, errands, whatever, and it always fits. Performance is better than people say too — I get around 6 hours with decent projection for the first couple. Not trying to reinvent the wheel, just doing the fresh blue style really, really well. Def recommend.
This one just works. Every time I wear Y EDT, people notice it, and not in an overpowering way. The ginger gives it a nice little sparkle, the apple keeps it juicy, and the woods in the base make it feel polished instead of immature. It’s fresh, clean, a bit sexy, and really easy to like. If Sauvage feels too loud and BR540-style stuff feels too sweet, this sits in a really nice middle lane. Super wearable year round. I also like that it smells modern without going full synthetic mess. Lasts about 6 hours on me, maybe more on clothes. Not beast mode, but honestly perfect for everyday.
Black Saffron is decent, just not something I’d reach for a lot. The saffron and juniper berries give it this cool dry, slightly leathery feel at first, and I do like that part. It smells polished and kind of expensive in that typical Byredo way. But tbh it never really becomes memorable on my skin. It stays pretty close after the first hour and turns into a soft woody skin scent. Not bad at all, just a little too restrained for the price. I can see why people like it, but for me it’s more “pleasant background scent” than wow.
I really like this one. The saffron hits first, but it’s not that loud medicinal type some perfumes do. Here it feels soft, a little leathery, and kinda airy with the juniper berries giving it a crisp edge. It smells modern without going full sterile niche on me. If BR540 is all sparkle and sugar, Black Saffron feels drier and more grown up. My only issue is the price because performance is good, not amazing - I get around 6 hours and then it sits pretty close. Still, the vibe is super nice and easy to wear. Def one of the more interesting Byredos I’ve tried.
Tbh I don't dislike this. It's crisp, slightly sweet, and really easy to throw on when you don't want to think too hard. The bergamot up top is pleasant and I catch some sage with a light woody drydown. Very clean-guy energy. My issue is it's just kinda bland for the price. It reminds me of a softer, less interesting take on that whole modern blue style, and after the opening it gets pretty basic. Not offensive at all, which is a plus, but definitely not unique. Lasts maybe 6 hours on me with average projection. Decent everyday scent, just nothing special.
I really like this one. Y EDT has that super clean apple + bergamot thing up top that just makes it easy to wear without thinking too hard. It feels youthful but not immature, kinda like a polished shower-fresh vibe with a little sage keeping it from being too basic. Not the most unique fragrance ever, and yeah it can lean a bit synthetic if you smell closely, but in the air it works really well. I get around 5-6 hours, which is decent for an EDT. This is one of those scents I reach for when I want to smell good and not risk offending anybody.
I really wanted to like this because I usually love sandalwood, but White Sandalwood just feels oddly dry and lifeless on my skin. The thyme at the top gives it a slightly herbal bite, then it turns into this pale woody cloud that never gets creamy or comforting. I was hoping for something smooth and rich, maybe Santal 33-adjacent without the pickle thing, but this just stays thin and a bit scratchy. It also sits super close to the skin pretty fast, so for the price I expected way more presence. Not terrible, just kinda boring and underwhelming tbh.
Tbh Black Saffron was a letdown for me. I was hoping for something rich and moody from the saffron, but what I mostly get is this thin, slightly sharp juniper vibe with a weird plasticky feel underneath. It never really settles into anything exciting. Kinda reminds me of those expensive niche scents that smell “interesting” for 10 minutes and then just sit there doing nothing. Performance wasn’t great either — I got maybe 4-5 hours and pretty soft projection after the first hour. For the price, this feels super underwhelming. Not awful, just bland and a little synthetic on my skin. Def not one I’d repurchase.
