Gladiator Extrait is what I wanted so many freshies to be. Lemon, grapefruit, and that green apple pop off right away, but it never goes cheap or body spray-ish. It smells juicy, clean, slightly green, and super polished. I wore it in warm weather and it performed way better than expected, which is rare for this style. Not exactly subtle, so I’d go easy on sprays, but wow it smells amazing in the air. Kinda gives luxury vacation energy without being tropical. Highly recommend if you want a fresh scent that actually lasts.
I love this because it doesn’t smell like every other citrus fragrance. The bitter orange gives it a sharp, grown-up edge, and the peppermint makes the opening feel super cold and alive. It’s fresh, but not boring or safe in a Bleu de Chanel type way. There’s some patchouli in the drydown that grounds it nicely, not dirty, just classy. Tbh this smells like someone who has their life together. Projection is strong for the first few hours and it lasts all day on clothes. Easy 5/5 for me.
This is insanely good. The opening hits with that green apple and bergamot combo, super bright but not basic shower gel fresh. It has this crisp, almost icy feel that makes it feel expensive right away. After a bit I get more cedar and vetiver, so it turns cleaner and more masculine-leaning, but still totally wearable. Performance is honestly great on me, like 8+ hours and people noticed without it choking anyone out. If you like fresh scents but want something with actual depth, Gladiator Extrait is def worth trying.
This smells like calm luxury to me. Not powdery in an old-fashioned way, not sugary, just smooth white musk with a soft vanilla blanket over it. The lily note gives it a little brightness so it doesn’t become too cozy or flat. I wore it to bed once and immediately decided I need a full bottle. It lasts surprisingly well on clothes too. Tbh this is one of the prettiest musks I’ve tried.
Oboro has that airy Byredo DNA, but this one feels richer and more complete. The opening is all bergamot and ginger, super fresh but with attitude, and then the amber comes in like a soft golden filter. I kept smelling my wrist like a weirdo lol. It’s not loud in a Sauvage or BR540 way, but it projects enough and leaves a really pretty trail. What I love most is how balanced it is — spicy, clean, warm, and never too much. Easily full bottle worthy for me.
This one feels very grown, but not in a stuffy way. More like minimal gold jewelry, fresh sheets, and a really good vanilla musk. I mostly get white musk and a smooth vanilla base, with Casablanca lily floating around the edges. It’s soft, yes, but it has presence. Not beast mode, and I wouldn’t want it to be. It’s the kind of perfume people notice when they’re close, which makes it feel more personal. Definitely one of the best Jo Malone releases imo.
