The 10 most popular men’s perfumes of 2026
This ranking comes from what customers across Europe actually paid for, not from editors’ opinions or review scores. Gender follows the catalogue label, so the list below is by catalogue gender label. The ten picks come first, one at a time, then the full top 15 in a table. Prices are the 2 ml retail price on 12 October 2026, and every perfume was in stock.
Imagination by Louis Vuitton
Imagination opens on citron, bergamot and orange, moves through neroli, ginger and cinnamon, and dries down to black tea, ambroxan and guaiac. The citrus and tea combination reads fresh rather than sweet. It comes from a designer house, and it is the most-ordered masculine perfume in Europe.

Aventus by Creed
Aventus pairs bergamot, blackcurrant and apple at the top with pineapple and patchouli in the heart. Birch, musk and oakmoss form the base. It ranks second in Europe and second in Germany, Italy, France and Greece.
Aventus as a 2 ml decant (9,95 €)
XJ 1861 Naxos by Xerjoff
Naxos starts with lavender, bergamot and lemon, then turns to honey and cinnamon. Tobacco, vanilla and tonka carry the base. It is third in Europe and sits in the top five in Germany, Italy, France and Greece.

Althaïr by Parfums de Marly
Althaïr begins with cinnamon, cardamom and orange blossom. Bourbon vanilla and elemi form the heart, and praline, musk and tonka make the base. It is the most dessert-like perfume in the top ten, and French customers rank it in their national top five.
Althaïr as a 2 ml decant (9,90 €)
Absolu Aventus by Creed
Absolu Aventus keeps the bergamot, blackcurrant and pineapple of the original, then adds ginger, cinnamon and rose. Patchouli, oakmoss and ambroxan anchor the base. Italy places it in the national top five, and it is seventh in Europe.

Torino21 by Xerjoff
Torino21 is built on mint, lemon and basil, with blackcurrant, rosemary and lavender in the heart and musk and vervain below. It is the herbal, green entry on the list. It ranks eighth in Europe.
Torino21 as a 2 ml decant (12,90 €)
Hacivat by Nishane
Hacivat opens on pineapple, grapefruit and bergamot, then turns to cedar, patchouli and jasmine over oakmoss. The pineapple and oakmoss pairing gives it a fruity, woody character. It is ninth in Europe.
Hacivat as a 2 ml decant (10,90 €)
Terre d’Hermès by Hermès
Terre d’Hermès is orange and grapefruit at the top, pepper and flint in the heart, and vetiver and cedar at the base. It is the least expensive 2 ml in the top ten. Only Terre d’Hermès and Imagination come from designer houses in this top ten.

Ranks 11 to 15 appear in the table only. The last column shows which of the four national top fives (Germany, Italy, France, Greece) each perfume reached. The sister article ranks the women’s list: the most popular perfumes for women in 2026.

Germany, Italy, France and Greece: four countries, one #1
Four countries publish a masculine top five. Imagination is first and Aventus second in every one of them. The differences start at third place.
- Germany: Imagination, Aventus, Reflection Man, Layton, XJ 1861 Naxos.
- Italy: Imagination, Aventus, XJ 1861 Naxos, Layton, Absolu Aventus.
- France: Imagination, Aventus, XJ 1861 Naxos, Althaïr, Layton.
- Greece: Imagination, Aventus, XJ 1861 Naxos, Layton, Reflection Man.
Germany is the only one of the four that puts Reflection Man third, France is the only one that lists Althaïr, and Italy is the only one that lists Absolu Aventus. Romania has no masculine list: its cells were withheld because the sample was too small, so we do not publish one.
Unisex favourites men are wearing
Half of all decants ordered were unisex-labelled perfumes, while masculine-labelled perfumes made up 30 %. Men are clearly buying across the shelf. Ombre Nomade (18,90 €) and Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait (17,90 €) lead the unisex ranking, and Tobacco Vanille (14,90 €) is ninth.
In the all-gender Europe ranking, Ombre Nomade is fourth, behind only Imagination, Aventus and Guidance, and above every other masculine perfume. Guidance is labelled feminine in the catalogue, which is why it appears in the women’s article instead of this one. The full unisex top 10 is there too.
Niche or designer? What the men’s top 25 shows
By the catalogue’s house classification, 17 of the men’s top 25 are niche. The eight designer entries are Imagination, Terre d’Hermès, Ombre Leather, Dior Homme Intense, Prada L’Homme, Sauvage, Stronger With You Intensely and Acqua di Giò Profondo.
The number one perfume comes from a designer house, Louis Vuitton, so the pattern is not simply niche against designer. The 17 and 8 are counts of perfumes in the list, not orders. Across all genders, niche houses took 65 % of decants. For more on how the market splits, see men’s fragrance statistics for 2026 and best-selling perfumes in 2026.
What the rest of the world buys: Sauvage and the US chart
Public sales data points somewhere different. LVMH says: “Sauvage remained the world’s best-selling men’s fragrance.”1 That perfume sits at number 17 in Scento’s men’s list.
The US picture comes from Circana data reported by WWD on 25 August 20262:
- “Dior Sauvage … remains the top men’s fragrance franchise in the U.S.”
- “Valentino Uomo now ranks at number-two behind Sauvage in the U.S.”
- “YSL Beauty took the number-one spot in 2025” as a brand.
- “Chanel Bleu de Chanel is the fourth-biggest men’s franchise in America.”
- “Men’s fragrance sales grew 7 percent in dollars and 3 percent in units during the first half of 2026.”
The gap between those charts and the table above is the point. The US and global charts are led by designer franchises such as Sauvage, Valentino Uomo and Bleu de Chanel. A ranking of European decant orders puts Louis Vuitton, Creed, Xerjoff and Parfums de Marly at the top.
How to try before buying a bottle
The 2 ml decant was 76 % of decant units, so most people sample before they commit. A 2 ml of any top-10 perfume ranges from 6,90 € (Terre d’Hermès) to 14,90 € (Imagination). Aventus and Layton each cost 9,95 €.
The trial size is not only a Scento habit. WWD reports that US men’s luxury sales “were flat in men’s though luxury minis grew 19 percent.”2 Wear a 2 ml across several days and in different weather before choosing a full bottle.
Scento sells decants hand-poured from original full-size bottles bought through authorised retail channels, with no dilution, in 2 ml, 5 ml and 8 ml vials plus a 30 ml bottle decant on most perfumes. For longevity-led picks, see the best long-lasting perfumes for men or long-lasting designer fragrances. If you are choosing by age, read picks for men in their 30s and picks for men over 40.
How we ranked these perfumes
Scento Fragrance Index, October 2025 to September 2026. Ranks are by paid decant units (0.75–30 ml) in Scento orders shipped across Europe. Cancelled, unpaid, free, gift-card and staff orders are excluded. Gender follows the catalogue label, so Louis Vuitton Imagination counts as masculine and both Amouage Guidance perfumes appear in the women’s list.
- A ranked perfume must clear a minimum number of separate orders, and country lists appear only where all five places clear it.
- Country lists: Germany, Italy, France and Greece. Romania’s masculine cells were withheld because the sample was small.
- We publish ranks and shares, never order counts.
- Notes and house classification come from the Scento catalogue. Prices are 2 ml retail on 12 October 2026.
