Gris Dior is a modern chypre-rose from Dior’s La Collection Privée (originally Gris Montaigne). It opens with a light citrus facet (bergamot), develops into a dewy/powdery rose and violet heart, and sits on a dry, mossy-patchouli oakmoss base with cedar, sandalwood and amber. The overall effect is cool, elegant, slightly powdery and refined — often described as ‘grey’, mossy and understatedly luxurious. Perfumer: François Demachy; renamed/marketed as Gris Dior in Dior’s Privée collection (original formulation associated with 2013, renamed/marketed in later years).
