This is such a dad/older brother classic but I mean that in a good way lol. The bergamot and apple opening is bright and friendly, then it gets smoother with sandalwood. It’s not screaming for attention like Sauvage or BR540 type stuff, it just sits there smelling clean and attractive. I’ve gotten compliments wearing it to the office, mostly because it’s not overpowering. Only downside is projection could be stronger, especially after a few hours. Still, I love how easy it is to wear.
I actually really like Wood Season. It opens with this bright mandarin/bergamot thing that feels clean but not boring, then the cinnamon sneaks in and makes it warmer. Not super sweet, which I appreciate. It has that typical Mancera strength but it’s not as loud as some of their monsters, more wearable imo. Only flaw is the drydown gets a little flat after a few hours, mostly amber and mossy woods. Still, really nice for fall or cool spring days.
Boss Bottled is one of those scents I totally get why people like it, but it doesn’t really excite me. The apple opening is nice and clean, a little sweet, and the woody drydown with cedar feels very safe. It’s super wearable for work or just everyday stuff, but it also smells like something I’ve smelled on a million guys before. Performance is okay on me, maybe 5-6 hours, projection pretty moderate. Not bad at all, just not something I’d rush to replace.
Mochi Musk is def unique for Mancera, way softer than their usual beast mode stuff. The rice and musk combo gives it a clean, slightly creamy vibe, almost like unsweetened mochi powder. I like the idea more than the actual wear, though. It’s pleasant and easy, but doesn’t really evolve much on my skin. The ambergris adds a little salty warmth, which is nice, but overall it feels a bit too minimal for the price. Not bad at all, just not something I’d rush to buy a full bottle of.
Xplicit Poppy smells like a fancy citrus-woody fragrance with a twist. The grapefruit pops right away, then it settles into this warm Peru balsam thing that’s smooth and slightly resinous. I don’t find it sweet, more sharp-fresh and elegant. It kinda reminds me of niche summer scents that try to be clean but edgy, except this actually lasts. Projection is strong for the first few hours, then it sits closer but still very noticeable. Honestly one of the coolest Manceras I’ve tried.
This is one of those scents where I kept smelling my wrist like… wait, why is this so good? The Sauvignon note gives it this crisp, almost wine-like sparkle, then the oud comes in smooth and clean, not barnyard or heavy. It feels fresh but also kinda dark underneath. Super Mancera in the best way: bold, polished, and a little dramatic. I’d wear this on a night out or when I want something nobody else is wearing. Def a 5/5 for me.
Five stars easy for me. Xplicit Poppy has that Mancera power but feels more refined than some of their louder bottles. I mostly get grapefruit and vetiver, with a soft oud base that makes it smell expensive instead of harsh. It’s bright enough for daytime but has enough depth for night too, which I love. I’ve worn it in warm weather and cooler evenings and it worked both times. If you like fresh fragrances with a dark twist, this is a must try.
Xplicit Poppy smells like grapefruit in a leather jacket lol. It opens bright and tart, almost mouthwatering, but the vetiver and oud underneath keep it from being too clean or sporty. I get a classy, slightly bitter green vibe that feels very grown up. Not sweet, not generic, and def not one of those boring blue fragrances. I wore it to dinner and kept catching it off my jacket the next day. Super impressed, honestly one of the better Mancera releases for me.

Performance is decent on me, around 6 hours, but projection chills out after the first hour or two. I’d give it 4 stars because it’s super wearable, just maybe a little too familiar now.
