Best Amouage Decision Dupes 2026: 5 Alternatives

The perfumes in a similar style that people compare Amouage Decision with most are Amouage Purpose 50, Nishane Ani, Maison Crivelli Musc Nurāsana, Amouage Outlands and Amouage Existence. Decision costs €365 for 100 ml,¹ so a 2 ml decant of the original, at €11.95, is the sensible place to start before choosing any of them.

• Nishane Ani shares the vanilla and aromatic combination, with less frankincense, according to ScentAdvice.³

How we chose these alternatives

We kept to original perfumes that independent communities actually compare with Decision. A perfume made this list only if it met three conditions.

• At least two independent public sources name it as smelling like Decision, from Parfumo similarity votes, Fragrantica member reviews and ScentAdvice.
• It is stocked at Scento as a decant, so you can try it before buying a full bottle.
• It shares part of Decision’s frankincense, cardamom and vanilla axis.

The order follows the strength of that evidence, not a score of our own. Where sources disagree, we say so.

Start with Amouage Decision

Amouage lists Decision as a fresh, woody, aromatic scent by perfumer Quentin Bisch. The top notes are pink pepper, bergamot and cardamom, the heart is frankincense, juniper and myrrh, and the base is patchouli, cedarwood and vanilla.¹ The house describes it as “an olfactory bolt of lightning” that finishes with a warm vanilla in the base that “conveys the profoundly liberating effect of acceptance”.¹

Decision and Existence were the final two fragrances in Amouage’s Odyssey Collection, both developed by Bisch and both built around frankincense, as 100 ml eau de parfum.⁵ The Eau de Parfum has a 33% oil concentration and five weeks of ageing, three of maceration and two of maturation.¹ In June 2026 it won the award for “iconic independent brands” at the Fragrance Foundation France Annual Revelations.⁴

Critics describe it differently, which is the best reason to try it on skin first. ScentAdvice finds it “very sweet” with a resinous sweetness and a spicy tinge, drying down to “a much more familiar frankincense fragrance”.³ Ali Perfumewala heard “a very mild citrus and frankincense combination that sat very close to the skin”,⁶ while a Parfumo reviewer wrote that “Decision maintains a consistent scent bubble for 10-12+ hours”.⁷

Most people begin with the smallest vial: 2 ml made up 76% of paid decant units at Scento between October 2025 and September 2026, against 11% for 5 ml and 9.5% for 8 ml. Amouage was the number two house by share of paid decant units in that period, at 8.5%.

Five alternatives to Amouage Decision

Each entry shows the evidence, what the perfume shares with Decision and where it departs. These are originals, not copies of Decision.

Amouage Purpose 50

Purpose 50 is an extrait by the same perfumer, built on frankincense, pink pepper, bergamot and pimento, then papyrus, rose, sandalwood and vetiver, with a base of vanilla, akigalawood, saffron and suede.² On Parfumo, 86 of 266 users find it similar to Decision,² and it appears in the “smells similar” list on Decision’s page.⁷ PickMyClone records 191 “reminds me of” votes.⁸

ScentAdvice wrote that “for a while, I felt like Purpose 50 was perhaps more akin to Decision, as that is also very frankincense heavy to me and both introduce quite a lot of vanilla along the way”.⁹ One Parfumo member placed Decision “between Purpose and Purpose 50” and judged Purpose 50 the closer comparison.⁷ The difference is weight. A Parfumo reviewer calls Purpose 50 “earthier, denser, and overall heavier”, and Decision “the simplest one in structure, yet perhaps the most versatile”.¹⁰

Nishane Ani

ScentAdvice’s review of Decision says: “I’m reminded of that slightly custardy, earthy Nishane Ani vanilla and aromatic combination, just with a lot more frankincense”.³ Fragrantica members say much the same about the drydown. One writes that “the lemon-cardamom-vanilla mix gives a slight Nishane Ani vibe in the drydown”, and another that it is “a milkier Nishane Ani” in the first 15 minutes.¹¹

Ani is an extrait with bergamot, green notes, blue ginger and pink pepper, then blackcurrant, Turkish rose and cardamom, resting on patchouli, cedarwood, vanilla, benzoin, ambergris, musk and sandalwood.¹² It dates from 2019.¹³ Expect a sweeter, vanilla-and-ginger character with far less frankincense than Decision. Nishane Ani as a 2 ml decant (€9.90)

Maison Crivelli Musc Nurāsana

On Parfumo, 16 of 65 users find Musc Nurāsana similar to Decision, which that site classes as moderately similar.¹⁴ PickMyClone records 21 “reminds me of” votes.⁸ A Fragrantica reviewer wrote that it “really recalls Amouage Decision but in a lighter more wearable way”.¹⁵ It is a 2026 extrait by Gaël Montero, with bergamot, ginger and cardamom, then Damask rose and frankincense, over musk, labdanum, fir and tonka bean.¹⁵

A caution: ScentAdvice and several Fragrantica reviewers compare it more to Guidance and Existence.^15,16 Treat it as a rosier, muskier cousin rather than a close likeness.

Maison Crivelli Musc Nurāsana as a 2 ml decant (€18.90)

Amouage Outlands

Outlands is the closest in mood and the most debated. ScentAdvice wrote of Decision: “Style-wise this reminds me perhaps most of Outlands, but with that typical Bisch-twist that gives it a bit of a sparkling spicy texture”.³ On Parfumo, 21 of 136 users find the two similar.¹⁷

Not everyone agrees. One Parfumo reviewer says that “other than both being creamy vaguely-vanilla-based citrus fragrances, Decision and Outlands smell nothing alike”, adding that Outlands rests on sandalwood and a spicy amber accord while Decision rests on vanilla and incense.⁷ Outlands, by Cécile Zarokian, opens with cardamom, frankincense, bergamot, Sichuan pepper, elemi and lemon, and moves through patchouli, saffron, rose and orange blossom to vanilla, amber, benzoin, labdanum, opoponax, birch, musk, ambergris and oud.¹⁷ Among Scento’s customers, it is the number 19 most-bought unisex perfume across Europe (October 2025 to September 2026).

Amouage Outlands as a 2 ml decant (€15.95)

Amouage Existence

Existence is Decision’s sibling, released in the same chapter by the same perfumer, with lily of the valley and rose over frankincense and labdanum, then ambergris, white musk and benzoin.¹⁸ It sits further from Decision than the others. Fragrantica’s review of the pair says they “start drastically different and get closer together with the development of sweeter, powdery, warm balsams and ambers in the base”.¹⁸ On Parfumo, 4 of 18 users find them similar, which the site calls moderate.¹⁹

Choose it if the frankincense backbone appeals and you want a floral opening instead of juniper and pepper.

Amouage Existence as a 2 ml decant (€11.95)

Decision 42 and the clones

Decision 42 is Quentin Bisch’s 2026 extrait, at 42 percent concentration and six weeks of ageing, priced at $550 for 100 ml.²⁰ Amouage says the composition adds neroli, cardamom and cinnamon for “a sharper evocation of the lightning”.²¹ On Parfumo, 81 of 89 users find it similar to Decision.²² Scento does not currently sell it, so it is not one of the picks.

Clone databases also list several lookalikes made to copy Decision.²³ Scento sells only original perfumes, so none appear here.

How to sample Decision and its alternatives

Because opinions on Decision differ so much, test before you commit. Order a 2 ml of the original first, wear it for a full day and note whether it lasts or stays close to the skin. Then add one or two of the perfumes in a similar style that fit what you noticed: Purpose 50 if you want more weight, Ani if the vanilla drydown was the draw, Musc Nurāsana for something lighter.
