The best Gucci perfume depends on the style you like. Gucci Bloom suits a white floral1, Flora Gorgeous Gardenia a sweet gardenia with brown sugar2, Gucci Guilty a warm amber floral3 and Guilty Pour Homme an everyday men’s aromatic. This guide covers 12 Gucci perfumes, each with a “choose it if” line and a decant to try first.

In short:

  • Four families cover most of the house: Bloom, Flora and Guilty, plus the older Rush (1999) and Bamboo (2015).
  • Check the strength before you buy. Gucci sells the original Guilty for women as a “rich eau de parfum”3, and Guilty Pour Homme exists as an EDT and an EDP with different note lists4,5.
  • Gucci Beauty is changing licensee: Coty runs it to 30 June 20276, then L’Oréal’s 50-year licence starts on 1 July 20277.
  • Scento’s Gucci decants start at €5.90 for 2 ml, so you can wear a scent before committing to a full bottle.

How to choose a Gucci perfume

Start with the family. Bloom is the white floral line. Flora is the line of gardenia and jasmine florals, with packaging that carries a pattern first created for Gucci in 19662. Guilty is the warmer line for women and men, with patchouli as its signature ingredient9. Rush and Bamboo are the older women’s perfumes, from 1999 and 2015.

Then pick a style: white floral (Bloom), sweet or jasmine floral (Flora Gorgeous Gardenia and Jasmine), floral woody (Gardenia Intense and Bamboo), amber floral (Guilty), chypre (Guilty Absolute and Rush), or woody aromatic, fougère and ambery leathery for men.

Strength is where Gucci names mislead. Gucci now sells the original Guilty as an eau de parfum that is “reintroducing the original Pour Femme scent as a rich eau de parfum”3, while the 2010 original was an eau de toilette10. Guilty Pour Homme has the same split: the 2011 EDT lists lemon, lavender, orange blossom, cedar and patchouli4, and the later EDP lists notes including rose, chili pepper, orange blossom, lavender, patchouli and cedarwood5. Compare notes, not just the name. Our guide to EDT, EDP and parfum strengths explains what the labels usually mean.

Occasion comes last. The Intense and Elixir versions suit evenings and cooler weather; the lighter florals and the Guilty Black fougère suit daytime. That is reasoning from the notes, not a measured rule.

Finally, try before you commit. Among the decants Scento customers bought between October 2025 and September 2026, 76% were 2 ml (Scento Fragrance Index, Europe).

Gucci Bloom picks

Bloom was the first fragrance by Alessandro Michele1. Our separate guide to Gucci Bloom alternatives covers other ways into the style.

Gucci Bloom by Gucci

Gucci Bloom was blended by master perfumer Alberto Morillas with direction from Alessandro Michele and went on sale on 15 August 20171. Natural tuberose absolute from India is interlaced with natural jasmine absolute, and the Rangoon Creeper flower changes colour from white, gradually to pink and finally to red as it blooms1. Gucci describes the structure unusually: instead of a classical top, heart and base pyramid, Bloom “opens fully at once”11. Choose it if you want a white floral that is built to open fully at once.

Gucci Bloom as a decant: 2 ml €7.90, 5 ml €14.90, 8 ml €24.90

Gucci Bloom Intense by Gucci

Bloom Intense was inspired “by the magnetic forces of moonlight” and adds Lady of the Night, a night-blooming flower12. The notes run from pear, ginger essence and mandarin to sambac jasmine, orange blossom absolute and Lady of the Night, then patchouli, coconut and crystal moss12. It arrived in 202313. Choose it if you like Bloom but want patchouli and coconut underneath.

Gucci Bloom Intense as a decant: 2 ml €7.90, 5 ml €15.50, 8 ml €24.95

Gucci Flora picks

Every Flora bottle’s packaging carries the House’s Flora pattern, “first created by artist and illustrator Vittorio Accornero for Gucci in 1966”2. For cheaper alternatives to the line, see our Gucci Flora alternatives guide.

Flora Gorgeous Gardenia by Gucci

The eau de parfum opens with a blossom accord, Italian mandarin and red berries, moves to white gardenia, jasmine absolute and frangipani, and rests on patchouli and a brown sugar accord2. Gucci says “a touch of Brown Sugar accord adds a delicate sweetness to its sillage”2. It went on sale from 30 July 202114. Choose it if you want a sweet, fruity gardenia rather than a green one.

Flora Gorgeous Gardenia as a decant: 2 ml €7.90, 5 ml €15.90, 8 ml €24.95

Flora Gorgeous Gardenia Intense by Gucci

Gucci calls it “the most concentrated fragrance in the Gucci Flora collection” and files it as a floral woody gourmand15. The notes are mandarin essence, a gardenia accord and sandalwood essence15. GTR Magazine credits master perfumer Honorine Blanc and reported its arrival on 11 July 202516. Choose it if you like the gardenia idea but want sandalwood and more depth.

Flora Gorgeous Gardenia Intense as a decant: 2 ml €7.90, 5 ml €15.90, 8 ml €25.90

Flora Gorgeous Jasmine by Gucci

Mandarin, bergamot and black pepper open into jasmine grandiflorum, a magnolia accord, jasmine sambac and rose, with sandalwood, benzoin and patchouli underneath17. The bottle is “lacquered turquoise stone glass”17. Alberto Morillas is the perfumer, and it was available from 1 August 202218. Choose it if jasmine is the note you reach for first.

Flora Gorgeous Jasmine as a decant: 2 ml €7.90, 5 ml €15.90, 8 ml €24.95

Guilty and the classics for women

These four are warmer and older in style than the Bloom and Flora florals.

Gucci Guilty by Gucci

Gucci Guilty launched in September 201010. Its top notes include mandora, “a fruit found in the Mediterranean island of Cyprus”, with pink pepper and bergamot, followed by lilac and geranium, and a base of patchouli and amber3,10. Gucci today presents the original as an eau de parfum3, so match the notes you read to the version you try. Choose it if you want a warm floral with a little spice. Our Gucci Guilty alternatives guide compares the line further.

Gucci Guilty as a decant: 2 ml €7.90, 5 ml €16.90, 8 ml €26.90

Gucci Guilty Absolute Pour Femme by Gucci

This one begins “from a mysterious note of blackberry”19. Alessandro Michele said: “I wanted a blackberry note that would make you dream upon smelling it.”19 Alberto Morillas blended the three hero notes with bergamot, patchouli and ambergris, and the notes listed are blackberry, Bulgarian rose and Goldenwood (Nootka cypress)19. It is a fruity chypre that launched in early 201819. Choose it if you like fruit and rose over a deep base.

Gucci Guilty Absolute Pour Femme as a decant: 2 ml €7.90, 5 ml €13.90, 8 ml €22.90

Gucci Rush by Gucci

Gucci Rush was “first presented in 1999” in a bright red rectangular bottle “reminiscent of vintage cassette tapes”, and the master perfumer is Michel Almairac8. Tom Ford was Gucci’s designer at the time20. The notes are freesia, peach accord and gardenia, then rose and jasmine, then patchouli, vanilla and moss8. Choose it if you want a fruity chypre with a retro bottle.

Gucci Rush as a decant: 2 ml €5.90, 5 ml €12.50, 8 ml €18.95

Gucci Bamboo by Gucci

Bamboo is “inspired by the Gucci Bamboo 1947 bag”, with a bottle topped by a silver bamboo-shaped cap, and its master perfumer is Frank Vöelkl21. It launched in 201522. Orange blossom and bergamot open it, ylang-ylang accord, lily and jasmine accord form the heart, and sandalwood and vanilla accords sit underneath21. Choose it if you want a bright floral that settles into soft woods.

Gucci Bamboo as a decant: 2 ml €5.90, 5 ml €12.50, 8 ml €18.95

Gucci Guilty for men

The men’s line began as the “aromatic companion” to the women’s Guilty. Three scents show how far it has moved since.

Guilty Pour Homme by Gucci

Fragrantica’s launch news described it as “aromatic companion of popular female edition Gucci Guilty from 2010”, due in 20114. The shared signature across the EDT and the later EDP is lavender, orange blossom, patchouli and cedar4,5. Gucci describes the EDP as “a Woody Aromatic Spicy fragrance”5. Choose it if you want an everyday aromatic with a woody base.

Guilty Pour Homme as a decant: 2 ml €7.90, 5 ml €14.90, 8 ml €22.90

Gucci Guilty Black Pour Homme by Gucci

WWD described the 2013 launch as “a fougère that opens with coriander and lavender over a heart of orange flower, neroli and aromatic notes, with a base of patchouli and cedarwood”23. Choose it if you prefer a greener, fresher fougère to the spiced Guilty versions, which is our reading of the notes.

Gucci Guilty Black Pour Homme as a decant: 2 ml €6.90, 5 ml €12.90, 8 ml €19.90

Guilty Elixir de Parfum Pour Homme by Gucci

Gucci calls it “ambery leathery” and says it uses “precious Patchouli, the signature ingredient of Gucci Guilty, amplified in concentration”9. Gucci names orris butter, Ambrofix and benzoin as key ingredients, with vanillin, nutmeg and patchouli9. Moodie Davitt Report covered the launch in September 2023 and credits Quentin Bisch and Natalie Gracia-Cetto for the men’s and women’s pair24. Choose it if you want a deep, spiced evening scent.

Guilty Elixir de Parfum Pour Homme as a decant: 2 ml €7.90, 5 ml €16.90, 8 ml €26.90

Who makes Gucci fragrances now

Coty acquired the Gucci Beauty licence in 2016, and since 2019 it has grown Gucci Beauty revenues by more than 60%6. On 7 July 2026 Coty announced that it will “continue to operate the Gucci Beauty brand through at least June 30, 2027”, about a year ahead of the original licence term, and that it receives approximately $400 million for the early transition6. Kering said the Coty licence was previously due to expire on 30 June 202825.

L’Oréal then enters “a fifty-year exclusive license agreement for the creation, development, and distribution of fragrances and beauty products for the Gucci brand”, which “shall come to effect as of July 1st, 2027, subject to regulatory approvals”7. In October 2025 Kering said its wider alliance with L’Oréal “is valued at €4 billion”26.

What it costs to try Gucci

Gucci’s Luxembourg site lists Bloom at €164 for 100 ml27. Gucci’s US site lists Flora Gorgeous Gardenia at $181 for 100 ml2, Rush at $135 for 75 ml8 and Guilty Elixir at $195 for 60 ml9. Scento’s retail prices for these picks run from €5.90 to €7.90 for 2 ml, from €12.50 to €16.90 for 5 ml and from €18.95 to €26.90 for 8 ml.

A decant costs more per millilitre than a bottle, so the honest case is the cost of trying. Scento’s calculation from its own prices: Rush or Bamboo at 2 ml for €5.90 is €2.95 per ml, and the €7.90 picks are €3.95 per ml. Gucci Bloom at 100 ml for €164 is €1.64 per ml. A sample costs more per ml but far less up front, and it tells you how a scent wears on your skin before you pay for the bottle.

If you do buy a full bottle, learn to read its code first. Our guide to checking a perfume’s batch code shows how to verify authenticity.

How we compiled this

We read Gucci’s own product pages, press releases from Coty, L’Oréal and Kering, and trade coverage on 22 October 2026, and checked each Scento price and listing on the same day. The twelve picks are the Gucci perfumes currently available as decants at Scento, grouped by family and style rather than ranked by sales. The 76% size share comes from the Scento Fragrance Index: Scento’s own European decant orders, October 2025 to September 2026. Per-ml figures are our calculation from retail prices.

Your questions, answered

What is the best Gucci perfume for women?
There is no single winner, because it depends on style. Gucci Bloom suits a white floral, built around tuberose and jasmine, according to Coty. Flora Gorgeous Gardenia suits a sweet gardenia, with a touch of brown sugar accord, according to Gucci. Gucci Guilty suits a warm amber floral with mandora, lilac and patchouli, according to Gucci. Rush, Bamboo and Guilty Absolute Pour Femme cover chypre and woody styles.
What is the best Gucci perfume for men?
It depends on style. Fragrantica describes Guilty Pour Homme as the aromatic companion to Gucci Guilty, with lavender, orange blossom and patchouli at its core. Gucci Guilty Black Pour Homme is a fougère, which WWD described as opening with coriander and lavender. Guilty Elixir de Parfum Pour Homme is ambery leathery, according to Gucci. Choose by style rather than looking for one winner.
Which Gucci Guilty lasts longest?
No measured longevity figures exist for the line, so no version can be named as the longest lasting. Gucci says the Guilty Elixir de Parfum Pour Homme takes the signature patchouli of Gucci Guilty and amplifies it in concentration. Compare the version you try, because EDT and EDP releases have different note lists.
What is the difference between Flora Gorgeous Gardenia and the Intense?
Gucci describes Flora Gorgeous Gardenia Intense as the most concentrated fragrance in the Gucci Flora collection, and files it as a floral woody gourmand with sandalwood essence. The original eau de parfum lists Italian mandarin, white gardenia, jasmine absolute and a brown sugar accord. Choose the Intense for more depth and wood.
What does Gucci Bloom smell like?
Gucci Bloom is a white floral. Coty says natural tuberose absolute from India is interlaced with natural jasmine absolute, and the Rangoon Creeper flower changes colour from white to pink to red as it blooms. Gucci Stories says that instead of a classical top, heart and base pyramid, Bloom opens fully at once. Alberto Morillas blended it, and it went on sale on 15 August 2017.
Is Gucci Rush still made, and what does it smell like?
Yes. Gucci still lists Rush, first presented in 1999, at $135 for 75 ml on its US site. The notes are freesia, peach accord and gardenia, then rose and jasmine, then patchouli, vanilla and moss. Gucci classes it as a chypre. The bottle is bright red and rectangular, reminiscent of vintage cassette tapes, and the master perfumer is Michel Almairac.
Who makes Gucci perfumes?
Coty has held the Gucci Beauty licence since 2016 and says it will operate the brand through at least 30 June 2027. L'Oréal then enters a fifty-year exclusive licence for Gucci fragrances and beauty products, taking effect on 1 July 2027 subject to regulatory approvals, according to L'Oréal. Kering said the Coty licence was previously due to expire on 30 June 2028.
How can I check a Gucci perfume is genuine?
Check the batch code with a verification tool before you trust a full bottle. Scento's guide to batch-code tools for perfume verification covers the tools and how to use them. Buying a 2 ml decant first also lets you compare how the scent wears against the notes Gucci lists for it, before you spend on a full bottle.
