The brand says that, in his youth, Narciso Rodriguez was given a vial of rare Egyptian musc oil that became his personal signature, and that the story of his fragrances started with musc.⁵ The fashion label launched in 1997, and in 2002 and 2003 Rodriguez became the first designer to receive consecutive Womenswear Designer of the Year awards from the Council of Fashion Designers of America.⁵

The three lines are easy to tell apart once you know what to look for. For Her is the musk-chypre signature and its flankers. Musc Noir Rose For Her by Narciso Rodriguez

This is the sweet, dark-leaning end of the line: a floral amber with tuberose, juicy plum, Italian bergamot and pink pepper over vanilla, a suede accord and Indonesian patchouli. All Of Me by Narciso Rodriguez

Dora Baghriche and Daphné Bugey composed All of Me, which Fragrantica placed in late summer or autumn of 2023.¹⁹ The brand lists rose centifolia and geranium bourbon, a note usually found in men’s fragrances, with white peony, black iris, tuberose, six different musc notes, sandalwood and amber. It is a vegan formula with 88% natural ingredients.³ It suits rose lovers who prefer a modern floral rose to a sugary one. All Of Me as a 2 ml decant (€7.90)

All Of Me Intense by Narciso Rodriguez

All Of Me Intense, the first flanker of All of Me, was due on shelves in September 2024, in 30, 50 and 100 ml with a 150 ml refill.²⁰ The notes add pink pepper, jasmine sambac, heliotrope and vanilla-infused muscs, with sandalwood and vanilla pod absolute beneath the rose, black iris, geranium and tuberose. The formula is vegan, with 90% of ingredients of natural origin.⁴ With vanilla-infused muscs in the notes, it is a fuller rose than the original, and, with Musc Noir Rose For Her, it is one of the two Narciso Rodriguez fragrances Scento’s members reach for most. How to layer them

The house gives the layering rule itself. Pure Musc was made specifically as the perfect base to layer beneath any fragrance in the for her collection, in what the brand calls the art of musc.¹¹ In practice that means the For Her perfumes are the ones to combine: Pure Musc under For Her, Musc Noir Rose or the Intense version. We would not stretch the idea to the Narciso or All of Me lines, because the maker only describes it for the for her collection. Two 2 ml vials are enough to test a pairing before committing to a bottle.
