Lalique is the French house of René Lalique (1860–1945), the Art Nouveau jeweller and glass master who, in the early twentieth century, began designing perfume bottles for François Coty and helped turn the flacon into a work of art. Lalique crystal is still made at the house's works in Wingen-sur-Moder in Alsace, and in 1992 the house launched its own fragrance line, Lalique Parfums, with Lalique de Lalique; today it belongs to the Swiss Lalique Group. Its best-known scents come from leading perfumers: Nathalie Lorson composed the cypress-and-vetiver Encre Noire, its smokier Encre Noire À l'Extrême, the berry-bright Amethyst, the iris-and-patchouli Perles de Lalique and the white floral L'Amour, Dominique Ropion signed the vanilla-and-almond Le Parfum, Christine Nagel created the spicy citrus Lalique White, and Maurice Roucel composed Lalique Pour Homme, known as Lion. Lalique decants & perfume samples — your questions answered

Are Lalique decants and perfume samples authentic?

Yes. Each Scento decant is hand-poured from an original full-sized bottle sourced through authorised European retailers — never a clone, dupe or inspired-by version. Manufacturer batch codes belong to those original bottles and are not printed on Scento decant vials.

How many sprays are in a Lalique sample?

As a rough guide, a perfume atomizer gives about 10–15 sprays per millilitre, so a 2ml Lalique sample is roughly 20–30 sprays, a 5ml about 50–75, and an 8ml about 80–120. Exact counts vary with the atomizer and how heavily you spray. Available sizes: 2ml, 5ml, 8ml, 30ml.

Do I pay customs or VAT on Lalique samples in the EU?

No extra customs for EU orders. Scento ships Lalique decants from within the EU to 27 European markets, so EU buyers pay no import duties or customs charges and usually receive their order in 1–5 business days. Orders to non-EU European countries may be subject to local import VAT set by your country, not by Scento.

Should I buy a Lalique decant or a full bottle?

Buy a decant to test or rotate a scent, and a full bottle once you know you love it. A 2ml decant is only about 2–4% of a 50–100ml bottle, so it lets you wear Lalique for days before committing to full-bottle price. For sealed presentation or gifting, an official boutique or authorised retailer is the better route.

Which Lalique fragrance should I try first?

Encre Noire À l'Extrême and Encre Noire are the Lalique fragrances our members reach for most, so they are the easiest place to start. If you want to explore further, Encre Noire À l'Extrême, Encre Noire, Lalique Pour Homme Lion make a strong first set in affordable decant sizes.
