Start with the style, because Prada’s fragrances fall into five clear families. Choose floral ambery (Paradoxe and its variations), gourmand (Candy), fresh floral (Virtual Flower), fougère (L’Homme and the Luna Rossa line) or ambery woody (Paradigme). Gender labels on the box matter less than the family.

Then think about season and occasion. The maker describes Candy as “perfect for Fall and Winter”⁵ and Luna Rossa Carbon as “perfect for spring and summer”⁶. It calls L’Homme a “transition scent for spring, summer, and fall”⁷.

The women’s line is built around Paradoxe and three of its variations, plus the older Candy and La Femme. Each pick has a “choose it if” line so you can match it to your own taste.

Prada Paradoxe by Prada

Paradoxe is a floral ambery perfume. The prada.com pyramid puts bergamot, tangerine and a pear accord on top; neroli, orange flower and jasmine sambac at the heart; and amber (Ambrofix), benzoin, Madagascar vanilla and white musk (Serenolide) in the base³. The maker calls it the first neroli bud extraction for Prada⁸. WWD dated the launch to August 2022 and described it as the first major Prada women’s scent launched by L’Oréal⁹. WWD later called it “the top-selling launch of 2022”, and The Fragrance Foundation named it its 2023 Fragrance of the Year in Women’s Prestige^10,2. Prada Paradoxe Intense by Prada

The maker describes Paradoxe Intense as a floral ambery fragrance with a woody inflexion, built on jasmine, amber (Ambrofix) and a moss accord¹¹. Compared with the original’s neroli and white musk, the moss adds a darker, woodier edge. Choose it if you like Paradoxe but want more depth for autumn evenings.

Prada Paradoxe Virtual Flower by Prada

This is the lightest of the family: a fresh floral with a musky finish¹². The notes are vert de bergamot, jasmine accord, neroli, musk and ambrette, and it launched in 2024¹². Choose it if you find amber-heavy perfumes too sweet and want something for warm days or the office.

Prada Paradoxe Sweet Chemistry by Prada

Sweet Chemistry is the newest in the line, a fruity floral built on a blackcurrant syrup accord, orange blossom absolute and a neroli milk accord¹³. L’Oréal Japan launched it nationwide there on 4 September 2026¹⁴. Choose it if you want the Paradoxe signature with a playful, juicy top.

Prada Candy by Prada

Candy is an amber vanilla the maker calls an “oriental gourmand”, with benzoin resin, a caramel accord and white musk⁵. It was created by perfumer Daniela Andrier and introduced in 2011⁵. Prada La Femme by Prada

La Femme is a floral with frangipani, ylang-ylang, beeswax, vanilla, tuberose and vetiver¹⁵. It launched in 2016 with L’Homme as Prada’s first master brand of scents for women and men¹⁵. Choose it if you want an older, more classical white floral than the Paradoxe versions.

Prada perfumes for men

In the US, men’s fragrance is the faster-growing side of the market: men’s fragrance sales grew 7% in dollars and 3% in units in the first half of 2026, while women’s prestige fragrance sales were flat, according to WWD citing Circana⁴. Prada’s men’s line has two fougère families, Luna Rossa and L’Homme, plus the newer Paradigme.

Prada L’Homme by Prada

L’Homme is a fougère aromatic with black pepper, geranium and patchouli, amber and iris, and neroli⁷. The maker says perfumer Daniela Andrier crafted it and La Femme “as a pair of equals”⁷. Prada L’Homme Intense by Prada

L’Homme Intense is an Eau de Parfum with amber, patchouli, iris and tonka beans¹⁶. The maker’s product page lists amber, patchouli, sandalwood and roasted tonka beans¹⁶. Choose it over the Eau de Toilette if you want the same iris and amber signature with more warmth and a sweeter base.

Luna Rossa Ocean by Prada

Luna Rossa Ocean was the first Prada fragrance launched under the L’Oréal licence, in 2021¹⁷. Perfumers Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm describe an “iconic fougere structure” reinvented by “a sophisticated orris cream”¹⁸. The Eau de Toilette opens with bergamot, pink pepper and artemisia, moves to iris, lavender and a saffron accord, and rests on vetiver, musks and patchouli¹⁹. Choose it if you want a fresh, aquatic fougère that stays smooth rather than sharp.

Luna Rossa Carbon by Prada

Carbon is a woody fougère with lavender, geranium and a mineral ambroxan⁶. It launched in 2017 and was crafted by Daniela Roche-Andrier⁶. Choose it if you want a modern, clean lavender scent for spring and summer.

Luna Rossa by Prada

The original Luna Rossa is a fougère aromatic with lavender, spearmint and amber²⁰. The maker says the Luna Rossa fragrances are inspired by the world of extreme sailing competition⁶. Choose it if you want a classic aromatic fougère with an amber finish.

Paradigme by Prada

Paradigme is an ambery woody scent built with an inverted pyramid. Its base of ambery woods (Peru balm, benzoin, guaiac wood) leads, then bourbon geranium, and Calabrian bergamot and musks²¹. WWD reported that the aim was “flipping the traditional olfactive pyramid on its head” so the base notes are apparent from the outset²². Marie Salamagne, Bruno Jovanovic and Nicolas Bonneville composed it²². It launched globally in August 2025²². WWD reported in August 2026 that, since launching a year earlier, it had become a top-10 men’s franchise in the US⁴. Choose it if you like warm, resinous woods from the first spray.

Comparison table

Iris and amber: the Prada thread

Look across both lines and two notes keep returning. The maker’s L’Homme page calls amber and iris “Classic Prada fragrance notes”⁷. You can find iris in L’Homme, L’Homme Intense and Luna Rossa Ocean, and amber in Paradoxe, Paradoxe Intense, Candy, L’Homme, L’Homme Intense and Luna Rossa.

What Prada costs to try

Official prices differ by country and bottle size. These are the figures we could read:

• Paradoxe Eau de Parfum 90 ml: €175 on prada.com France³.
• L’Homme Eau de Toilette 100 ml: €135 on prada.com Belgium²³.
• Luna Rossa Ocean Eau de Toilette 100 ml: £100 on prada.com UK¹⁹.
• Paradigme Eau de Parfum 50 ml: 100 euros recommended retail at launch²².

At Scento, the same houses start at €6.90 for 2 ml, with 5 ml and 8 ml vials also available. Decants cost more per ml than a full bottle. In Scento’s analysis, Paradoxe 2 ml at €6.90 works out at €3.45 per ml and the 8 ml at €22.95 at about €2.87 per ml, against about €1.94 per ml for the 90 ml bottle at €175. The point is the entry cost: a 2 ml test is about 4% of the price of the full bottle.

If you do buy a bottle, check for a refill. L’Oréal says the entire Paradoxe, Paradigme and Luna Rossa Ocean ranges are refillable¹⁷. The maker says a 100 ml Paradoxe refill instead of two 50 ml bottles saves 44% glass, 100% metals, 67% plastic and 61% cardboard⁸. For Paradigme, a 150 ml refill instead of three 50 ml bottles saves 65% glass, 75% plastic and 100% metal²¹.
