L’Oréal reported €6.42 billion of perfume sales in 2025, the largest fragrance line any group discloses on its own.2 LVMH’s Perfumes & Cosmetics division took €8.17 billion, but that total also includes make-up and skincare.1 Puig’s Fragrance & Fashion arm made €3.65 billion, up 6.4% like-for-like.6 Among niche houses, Parfums de Marly’s retail sales passed $780 million and Amouage’s exceeded $430 million, both measured at shelf price rather than as company revenue.1314 Every figure below comes from an annual report, a results release or a named filing, and every estimate is labelled as one.

What is the biggest perfume company by revenue?
The answer depends on what each group counts as fragrance. L’Oréal is the largest by a pure fragrance line: its 2025 Universal Registration Document reports a “Perfumes” category of €6,424.9 million.2 That category spans every L’Oréal division, while the group’s Luxe division, home to YSL, Lancôme and Prada fragrances, reported €15.6 billion in total.2
LVMH’s Perfumes & Cosmetics division is larger in total, at €8,174 million in 2025.1 That figure covers Dior, Guerlain and the group’s other beauty houses, and it includes their make-up and skincare as well as their perfumes.1 No two groups disclose fragrance on the same basis, so there is no like-for-like ranking of fragrance-only revenue. The table below therefore keeps each group’s own segment name beside its figure.
Fragrance revenue by group, 2025–26
These are the latest full-year figures each group has published. Fiscal years differ: Coty and Estée Lauder close their year on 30 June, the others on 31 December. Currencies stay as reported, so euro and dollar figures should not be added together.

How much does Chanel make from fragrance?
Chanel does not say. The privately owned group reported revenue of $19.3 billion for 2025, up 2% on a comparable basis.3 Its results release says Fragrance & Beauty growth was “driven particularly by Fragrance and Skincare”, helped by Chance Eau Splendide, but it gives no figure for the division or for any perfume.3
Searches often surface an annual revenue figure for Chanel No 5. We found no primary source for any such figure, so none appears in our tables.
Who is growing and who is shrinking
Growth in 2025–26 split sharply between groups. Estée Lauder’s fragrance sales rose 10% organically in the fiscal year to June 2026.4 Puig’s Fragrance & Fashion arm grew 6.4% like-for-like in 2025.6 LVMH’s Perfumes & Cosmetics division was flat on an organic basis and down 3% as reported.1 Coty’s Prestige division fell 4% like-for-like.5 Hermès Perfume & Beauty fell 7.6% at constant exchange rates.8
Niche houses grew faster than any of the large groups. Amouage’s revenue rose 66% in 2025 and its estimated retail sales 74% in the first half of 2026, and Parfums de Marly’s retail sales rose 42% in its latest fiscal year.1413 The niche figures mix revenue and retail-sales growth, so they are not strictly comparable with the groups’ reported growth, but the gap in pace is wide.
LVMH’s three-year run shows the slowdown at the largest group. Its first-half figures point the same way: Perfumes & Cosmetics revenue was €3,914 million in H1 2026, against €4,082 million in H1 2025.1
| Year | LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics |
|---|---|
| 2023 | €8,271M |
| 2024 | €8,418M |
| 2025 | €8,174M |

The suppliers behind the bottles
Many of the perfumes sold by the groups above are composed by specialist fragrance suppliers, whose results show what brands are ordering. Givaudan’s Fragrance & Beauty division reported sales of CHF 3,830 million in 2025, up 7.9% like-for-like, with fine fragrance up 18.3%.9 IFF’s Scent division reported $2,479 million, up 3% on a comparable, currency-neutral basis.10 dsm-firmenich’s Perfumery & Beauty division reported €3,760 million, up 3% organically.11
Niche house revenues
Niche houses rarely publish accounts, so most figures are retail sales: the value of what shoppers paid at the till, which is higher than the house’s own net revenue. We label each figure by type.
Parfums de Marly is the largest niche house with a public figure. Its owner, Artessence, told WWD that Marly’s retail sales passed $780 million in the year to 31 March 2026, up 42%, with sister house Initio at about $220 million.13 BeautyMatter reports annual sales for Marly of €375–400 million, “according to one of the sources”, a single-source estimate.17 Set side by side, the two Marly figures show why the type of figure matters: the estimate of the house’s own sales sits far below the shelf-price value of what shoppers paid for its perfumes.1317
Amouage’s global retail sales exceeded $430 million in 2025, with revenue up 66%, and its estimated retail sales reached $360 million in the first half of 2026, up 74%.14
Xerjoff Group S.p.A. files accounts in Italy. Its turnover was €90.11 million in 2024, €59.25 million in 2023 and €39.71 million in 2022, as aggregated from filed accounts by Italian company registries.15 The group’s CFO told Pambianco in October 2024 that Xerjoff made up about 70% of sales and Casamorati about 30%.15 More on the house is in our page on Xerjoff and the Italian perfume market.

Scento’s own order data adds a view of how these houses fare with European decant buyers. The table lists the houses Scento’s customers ordered most between October 2025 and September 2026, with each house’s share of the decants ordered.18 Of the 87+ fragrance houses in our live catalogue, Louis Vuitton leads with 9.5% of decants ordered. Amouage ranks second with 8.5%, Parfums de Marly third with 7% and Xerjoff fifth with 5%.18 The ranks and shares show popularity among Scento’s customers, not revenue.
| Rank | House | Share of decants ordered |

Deals that price niche perfume
Without published accounts, acquisitions are the clearest public price tag on niche perfume. L’Oréal completed its €4 billion deal for Kering Beauté, which includes Creed and a set of fashion-house fragrance licences, on 31 March 2026.12 Creed has been owned by L’Oréal since that completion, and its own revenue is still not disclosed.
What Le Labo, Byredo and MFK earn: what is and isn’t disclosed
Three of the most talked-about niche names sit inside listed groups that do not break them out. Estée Lauder owns Le Labo, Puig owns Byredo, and LVMH owns Maison Francis Kurkdjian. Estée Lauder names Le Labo among the drivers of its fragrance growth, and Puig credits Byredo with leading its niche portfolio’s double-digit growth; LVMH mentions Maison Francis Kurkdjian only for its launches and exhibitions. None of the three groups publishes a revenue figure for these houses.461
Price is the one public number. Reuters reports that Le Labo’s classic collection sells 50 ml perfumes for $250.16 Any revenue figure you see for these three houses is a third-party estimate, not a disclosure.
How we compiled this
We took each revenue figure from the company’s annual report, results release or filing, or from the named news report where the company spoke to the press, and checked every figure on 8 October 2026. Currencies, fiscal years and growth measures (reported, organic, like-for-like, constant exchange rates) are kept exactly as each source states them, and no figure is converted.
- Reported revenue is what the company itself books as sales.
- Retail sales are measured at shelf price, so they are higher than the same house’s revenue; we label them wherever they appear.
- Segment names follow each group’s own reporting, which is why make-up and skincare sit inside some figures and not others.
“Scento order data” means the Scento Fragrance Index: Scento’s own analysis of paid decant orders placed between October 2025 and September 2026. It publishes shares and ranks only, never order counts, unit counts or revenue. A house’s share is its part of all paid decants in the period. Cancelled, test, staff and free orders are excluded, and a rank resting on too few orders to be stable is withheld. More research like this sits on our perfume industry statistics hub.
