Cherry Oud by Guerlain is a 2022 unisex Eau de Parfum by perfumer Delphine Jelk. Guerlain Cherry Oud shows black oud wood lacquered with a red cherry note, in its most ravishing, crimson facets. The top notes are cardamom, cherry and cinnamon. Between red and black, a potent new hue is exalted through a duo of roses at the heart: honey-toned Turkish rose absolute and Bulgarian rose essence. The base notes of leather and oud come through as a dusky leather accord, and the rose darkens and falls under the scandalous charms of oud. Jelk wanted to play upon contrasts of rarity and mystery, bringing the dusky quality of oud up against the brazenness of cherry. If it were a color, it would be a glossy red by Jeff Koons.
