Worth the hype honestly

I was expecting another nice-but-forgettable citrus fragrance, but nope, this is special. That bergamot opening is so bright and clean, then the patchouli gives it this dry, elegant backbone that makes it feel really put together. The black amber shows up later and adds a smooth warmth that keeps it from feeling too sharp. It’s the kind of scent that gets compliments from people who normally never notice perfume. Really easy to wear, but still distinctive. Lasts a solid workday on me, around 7 hours, with decent projection. For me this is one of those rare 5/5 scents that actually deserves the rating.

Peppery almond perfection

This is so good. Stockholm 1978 has that cool spicy sparkle from black pepper right away, then the almond comes in and makes it feel smooth and almost creamy without turning dessert-y. The patchouli in the drydown keeps it grounded and a little moody, which I love. It kinda gives me the same “can’t stop smelling my wrist” vibe I get from some niche ambers, but this feels more polished and less loud. Super wearable too — dressed up, casual, whatever. On me it lasts around 7-8 hours with really nice projection for the first couple. Easy 5 stars, def one of Vilhelm’s best.

Unexpectedly obsessed

I wasn’t expecting to be this into a blueberry perfume, but wow. The opening is bright and juicy with a little lemon, then it settles into this creamy sandalwood base that feels expensive and cozy at the same time. It’s sweet, but not in a teen body spray way at all. More like a chic sweater in perfume form. I also love that it has personality. A lot of fruity vanillas just blur together for me, but this has its own vibe. Lasted about 6-7 hours on my skin and even longer on clothes. If you want something playful but still niche and refined, I’d highly recommend this.

Mossy amber done right

This one surprised me in the best way. I expected something heavier, but the oakmoss and pepper keep it airy enough that it never gets cloying. Then the almond softens the edges and makes it feel really smooth on skin. It’s classy but not boring, which is honestly rare. Kinda reminds me of the confidence of something like Chanel Sycomore meeting a softer amber style, though this still feels totally its own thing. I’ve worn it in daytime and at night and it just works. People notice it, but it doesn’t scream across the room. Really elegant, really well blended, and yes I’d absolutely recommend it.

My favorite night-out wood

This is basically what I wish a lot of niche woody scents smelled like. The saffron and cedar combo is amazing here — dry, warm, a little edgy, but still really refined. I get some oud, but it never goes funky or medicinal, which is usually where these kinds of scents lose me. Not my thing? Usually oud. But this one totally works. It kinda reminds me of the sleekness of Baccarat Rouge 540’s saffron vibe, just without the sugary amber cloud. Much drier, smokier, more grown. I’ve worn this on nights out and gotten a bunch of compliments. Easy 5/5 for me.

Easy 5 stars for me

This is one of those scents that just makes me happy. The blueberry-vanilla combo is gorgeous, and the sandalwood in the drydown keeps it from getting too sweet or syrupy. I get why people hype this one. It’s a little artsy, a little cozy, and really easy to wear without being boring. If BR540 is all projection and gloss, this feels more intimate and textured. Still gets compliments though. I’ve worn it in spring and fall and it shines in both. Not nuclear, but definitely not weak either. For me it’s the perfect balance of fun and polished, and I’d absolutely repurchase.

My favorite polished freshie

Tbh this is probably one of my favorite niche freshies. The patchouli here is amazing because it adds texture and a little bite, while the bergamot keeps everything airy and sharp. There’s also this soft ambery warmth underneath that makes it feel more grown than your average citrus scent. I wore this on a warm day and kept catching little wafts of it for hours, which almost never happens with fresher perfumes on me. It’s not beast mode, but it absolutely performs. Super versatile, super classy, and just unique enough to stand out. I’d recommend this to basically anyone.

Smells like confidence

This is one of those fragrances that makes me stand up straighter lol. The bergamot hits first and feels bright and almost sparkling, but the black amber in the background keeps it from going too sporty. It’s classy in a very effortless way. Not shouty, not trying too hard, just really well put together. I get why people compare it to Aventus, but Morning Chess feels cleaner and more refined to me, less smoky and more chic. Performance is great too, around 6-7 hours and noticeable without choking anybody out. Def highly recommended if you want something fresh that still has depth.

Luxury smoke, zero mess

Smoke Show feels really expensive on skin. The opening is spicy with pink pepper, then that vetiver comes in and makes everything feel crisp and a little earthy, while the cedar keeps it smooth. What I really love is that it never turns harsh. A lot of smoky perfumes get too loud or too dirty on me, but this stays elegant the whole time. It has presence for sure, just not in an obnoxious way. I get about 6-7 hours with a soft trail after the first couple hours. Super easy to recommend if you want something smoky and woody that still feels clean and put together.

Cool girl vanilla

Poets of Berlin is so good tbh. On me, the vanilla is the star, but it’s not bakery vanilla. The vetiver keeps it dry and a little green, and that blueberry in the opening makes it feel modern instead of basic. Kinda gives me the same addictive pull Delina has, even though they smell nothing alike. This one is softer, cooler, less dressed up. I think that’s why I love it so much. It works in daytime, date night, whatever. People around me noticed it without it going full beast mode. Super easy to wear, but still special enough that I don’t confuse it with everything else in my collection.

Cozy but still sharp

I love this because it balances cozy and crisp really well. The lemon in the opening gives it a clean flash, but then that black amber starts warming everything up and it gets really addictive. There’s also this mossy touch underneath that keeps it from feeling too sweet or too obvious. Tbh a lot of modern ambers can blur together, but this one has personality. It feels like walking through a cold city in a great coat and somehow smelling expensive without trying. Performance is solid on me, around 6 hours easy. Not beast mode, just very put together and super easy to recommend.

Blueberry done right

I love this stuff. The blueberry note sounds gimmicky on paper, but here it’s smooth, airy, and kinda addictive. It opens fruity with a little lemon sparkle, then dries down into this creamy vanilla-sandalwood thing that feels super polished. Not a sugar bomb at all. It actually reminds me a tiny bit of what people wanted from a niche fruity-gourmand, but way more tasteful and grown. I keep smelling my wrist when I wear it. Performance is really solid too, around 7-8 hours on me with a nice scent bubble for the first few. Def one of those perfumes that feels unique without trying too hard.

Green citrus done right

I love this stuff. Morning Chess opens with this super crisp bergamot that instantly feels expensive, then the patchouli comes in and gives it that dry, woody-green vibe without getting dirty. Kinda reminds me of Aventus in spirit, but smoother, less loud, and more polished. On me it lasts around 7-8 hours with solid projection for the first couple. What I really like is how clean and confident it smells without being boring. Easy 5 stars because it just works. Office, dinner, random daytime wear, whatever. If you like fresh scents with a bit of edge, this is so good.

Spicy-clean with a cozy edge

Really like this one. The opening hits me with lemon and black pepper, so it feels bright but a little sharp in a cool way, then the almond softens everything and makes it feel more wearable. There’s also this mossy/ambery drydown that gives it a kind of vintage Scandinavian sweater vibe lol. It’s elegant without being boring, and I can see why people hype Vilhelm when they do this style well. My only small issue is that the peppery top can come off a bit harsh for the first 10 minutes, and I wish the almond lasted longer. Still, super nice overall and pretty easy to wear. Got around 6-7 hours on me with moderate projection.

Smoky saffron done right

This is so good. Smoke Show has that spicy saffron hit up top with a little pink pepper sparkle, then it settles into this dry woody cloud with cedar and oud that feels super polished instead of rough. It kinda gives me the confidence boost I get from wearing something like Oud Wood, but this feels darker and more interesting to me. I love how the smoke effect is there without turning ashy or heavy. Just smooth, sexy, expensive-smelling stuff. Performance is excellent too — I get around 7-8 hours easy and people definitely notice it. If you like woody spicy scents with a sleek edge, I def recommend this.

Dark, sleek, and addictive

I love this one way more than I expected. The vetiver in here keeps the oud from getting too thick, and the pink pepper gives it this cool modern lift in the opening. It smells smoky, but not campfire smoky — more like a tailored black jacket kind of smoky, if that makes sense. Super wearable for something with this vibe. Tbh a lot of darker perfumes try too hard and end up muddy, but Smoke Show stays clean and sharp the whole way through. Lasts most of the day on me with really solid projection for the first few hours. It feels special but still easy to wear.

Instant love for me

Instant 5/5. This is one of those perfumes that feels unique from the first spray without trying too hard. The pepper gives it a little bite, the lemon keeps it bright, and then that dark amber-patchouli base makes it feel sexy and a bit mysterious. I honestly can’t think of many scents that do this spicy/fresh/warm thing so smoothly. Some perfumes with almond go too makeup-y on me, but not here at all. It just adds softness. Lasted most of the day on my jacket and around 7 hours on skin. If you want something niche that still feels very wearable, this is a really good one.

Blueberry done right

I really like this one. The blueberry note is the star for me, but it’s not syrupy or juvenile at all. It opens kinda bright with lemon, then turns into this creamy vanilla-sandalwood thing that feels artsy and cozy at the same time. Tbh that contrast is what makes it so good. Minor flaw: there’s a slightly fuzzy synthetic vibe in the middle, and for the price I wish it projected a bit more. Still, it lasts around 6-7 hours on me and wears super nicely. Kinda feels like a niche cousin of a designer vanilla, but weirder in a cool way. Not quite love, but very close.

Smoky but still wearable

I really like this one. The opening hits me with saffron and pink pepper right away, then it settles into this dry woody mix with cedar and a smooth oud that never gets too funky. It’s got that dark, slightly mysterious vibe, but it’s not some super challenging smoke bomb. Kinda feels like a dressed-up, cleaner take on a woody spicy scent. My only small issue is that I wanted a little more depth in the drydown because it stays pretty linear on my skin. Still, it smells classy and a bit sexy without trying too hard. Lasts around 6-7 hours on me with solid projection for the first couple hours.

Citrus done the classy way

I really like this one. The bergamot hits first and it’s super crisp, almost sparkling, then the patchouli sneaks in and gives it that dry, slightly earthy backbone. It kinda reminds me of Aventus in the opening vibe, but cleaner and less loud. What I love is how polished it feels without being boring. The only flaw for me is that the amber base can get a little fuzzy and abstract after a few hours, so it loses some of that fresh charm. Still, it wears really well in daytime and at the office. I get around 6-7 hours, with moderate projection. Not a beast, but def very easy to enjoy.
